Knowing how to balance, create an abundance and maintain a smooth flow of qi are crucial to feeling good and maintaining your health. In “Traditional Chinese Medicine” you, as a human being, hold a special place in the grand scheme of things. You are an individual and unique manifestation of the one universal energy and you are in between the Heavens and the Earth.

Consider an idea that Dr. Stephen Covey puts forth, he says "We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey." Thus for you to expand your life to its fullest you must be in tip top shape. Through qigong you can tap into that energy so that it flows to and through you to manifest your life, your being and your health.

There are three relationships that you must maintain so that you have a healthy life, a bright and vibrant manifestation. FIRST, as a being living on this planet it is necessary that you maintain a strong Qi connection to the Earth. SECOND, as a being that is traveling through the Universe it is necessary that you maintain a strong Qi connection to the HEAVENS (the cosmos). And THIRD, since you are in the middle between the Heavens and the Earth it is necessary that you allow an open Qi connection between the Heavens and the Earth.

The question is how can you maintain the Qi connections betwee
You, The Earth and The Heavens. To do this I have created “Long Huo Dong Jong Qigong.” This is a simple and easy to learn qigong set that you can do anytime to create balance, create abundance and create flow. I taught this to my Kung Fu students for the first time about a week ago from when I wrote this article.

I want you to keep in mind the following: Stand comfortably, inhale and exhale of equal length and volume to create balance, think of the 7 positions on the face of a clock and gently pause your breathing when moving your hands to a new position.
6 O'CLOCK: Move your hands to the 6 o'clock position with your palms facing towards each other about 12 inches apart – like you are holding a basketball. Inhale and imagine and feel the Qi flow into the space between your hands, exhale and feel the Qi press against your palms balancing the energy between you and the Earth.

5/7 O'CLOCK: Move your hands up to the 5 & 7 o'clock positions, respectively, with your palms facing downward toward the ground. Imagine you are holding a large ball between them – inhale and feel the Qi flow into the space within the ball, exhale and feel the Qi press against your palms balancing and creating more Qi between you and the Earth.

4/8 O'CLOCK: Move your hands up to the 4 & 8 o'clock positions, respectively, with your palms facing downward toward the ground. Imagine you are holding an even larger ball between them – inhale and feel the Qi flow into the space within the ball, exhale and feel the Qi press against your palms balancing and creating even more Qi between you and the Earth.

3/9 O'CLOCK: Move your hands up to the 3 & 9 o'clock positions, respectively, with your left palm facing downward toward the ground and turn your right palm up to face the sky. Imagine that the ball that you were holding splits into two and you are now holding one large ball under your left hand and another large ball above your right hand. Inhale and feel the Qi flow into the space within each of the balls, exhale and feel the Qi press up against your left palm and down against your right palm. Synchronizing the energy between the Earth and the Heavens.

2/10 O'CLOCK: Move your hands up to the 2 & 10 o'clock positions, respectively, with your palms facing upward toward the sky. Imagine that the two balls recombine and you are holding an even larger ball between them – inhale and feel the Qi flow into the space within the ball, exhale and feel the Qi press against your palms balancing and creating Qi between you and the Heavens.

1/11 O'CLOCK: Move your hands up to the 1 & 11 o'clock positions, respectively, with your palms facing upward toward the sky. Imagine that you compress the ball making it a bit smaller – but more dense. Inhale and feel the Qi flow into the space within the ball, exhale and feel the Qi press against your palms balancing and creating more Qi between you and the Heavens.
12 O'CLOCK: Move your hands up to the 12 o'clock positions, respectively, with your palms facing upward toward the sky. Imagine that you compress the ball making it the size of a basketball and more dense. Inhale and feel the Qi flow into the space within the ball, exhale and feel the Qi press against your palms balancing and creating more Qi between you and the Heavens.

CONTINUE: Repeat the above steps in reverse order until you reach the bottom.

The entire “Dragon Fire Moving Clock Qigong” sequence is easy, short and refreshing. Daily practice can create balance, abundance and flow of Qi to and through you between you and the Universe thus increasing and maintaining your health.
