Are you seriously in debt and don't know which way to turn? Thinking about taking out a loan to pay off your current debts? More people than you realize find themselves deeply in debt and consider debt consolidation as an option but are afraid they won't be approved for a loan. Surprisingly, many banks are willing to help you with debt consolidation because it helps them almost as much as it helps you, particularly if they are one of the creditors that you owe money. There are also many benefits to debt consolidation.

· Interest Rate Reduction – If you're serious about consolidating your debts, many credit card companies will negotiate with you on a lower interest rate with a promise to pay from you. Even if they're not getting as much money from you as they'd like, they're still making money. If you contact a debt consolidation company, they'll work for you with the negotiations. By paying lower interest rates, your payments will also be lower and you'll have less to pay off.

· One Single Monthly Payment – You'll find that it's much easier to pay one monthly payment than several, even if the one payment is a larger payment. For instance, if you currently have 6 credit cards each with monthly payments of $50, you are currently paying $300 each month in credit card payments. With a debt consolidation loan, your monthly payment may only be $200 per month. Therefore, you're not only saving $100 per month on your payments will also be paying less because of the lower interest rate.

· Elimination or Reduction of Late Fees – Catching up on past due and delinquent accounts can be very difficult, especially when you have a lot of late fees as well. When you're part of a debt consolidation program, the creditor is often willing to reduce or even eliminate the late charges altogether.

· Get Out Of Debt Quicker – A debt consolidation loan is written for a specific amount of time such as 24, 36 or 48 payments. When that time is up, your debt should be paid. Credit cards seem to go on and on, particularly with the low minimum payments and continued interest and late fees. You'll find you're debt-free much quicker with a debt consolidation loan or program.

· No More Harassing Collection Calls – Very few things are more disconcerting than being hounded by debt collectors every day about bills that you just can't seem to pay, regardless of how hard you try. Debt consolidation will eliminate those calls!

· Free Debt Counseling – Consumers that find themselves seriously in debt often don't know how they got in that position or what to do differently to prevent it from happening again. By going through a debt consolidation company, you'll be provided with free debt counseling, which can be very informative and beneficial in the future.

· Improved Credit Rating – Once all your small debts are paid off, you'll be able to make just one monthly payment and get back on track, which will result in your credit scores improving almost immediately.

As Lisa Morshell drove home from the Georgia Dome on the I-75 expressway, returning from another glorious victory by her Atlanta Falcons, she made plans to attend the next home game in 2 weeks. She’d open the door, say hi her pets – a chocolate Schnauzer named Rico and a tabby cat she never got around to naming and still just called Kitty – then head straight to the computer to see what seats were still available for the upcoming game versus their hated division rivals.
