HOW TO WORK WITH YOUR DREAMS

THE MECHANICS OF SLEEP

It is helpful to have a little understanding of the mechanics of sleep in order to understand our dreams better. This section provides a glimpse of these sleep procedures we all experience on a daily basis under normal circumstances.
Firstly, our brain is a supremely intricate bio-electric organ which transits through various stages of activity all throughout the day, and especially during sleep. These stages have been named after the first four letters of the Greek alphabet.
Beta 14-30 pulsations of the brain per secondr
Alpha 8-13 pulsations of the brain per secondr
Theta 4-7 pulsations of the brain per secondr
Delta 0.5 – 4 or 5 pulsations of the brain per secondr
During waking hours our brains constantly fluctuate between the faster frequencies- beta and alpha. Beta is conce
ed with eyes opened, left brain activities, action, survival, logical, physical, material and non-intuitive thought processes… outer or conscious levels of awareness. Alpha is related more with eyes closed, creativity, receptivity, spirit, intuitive thought processes; right brain activities… inner or sub-conscious levels of awareness. Alpha stages can be intentionally reached by focusing the eyes upwards at the point between the brows; the 3rd Eye center, especially with eyes closed. To reach this state with eyes open, one can defocus the eye vision as occurs naturally when in the midst of daydreaming.

Theta is the next level after alpha which is similar but on a deeper degree of transitioning from the outer level of awareness; hearing outer world sounds shuts down, breathing dramatically slows.

Then Delta stages of mind are reached, where images and visuals really can begin. This is considered by many to be the entrance to being cognizant of our inter-connectedness and our connecting with Supreme Intelligence – That Divine essence of All That Is, Was, and Ever Shall Be. This 4th stage is where we enter through the “doorway to the spiritual dimension”. Upon writing this dream treatise it was interesting to notice that the 4th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is “Dalet” – which means entrance or door. This seems not to be just a haphazard illogical coincidence. And further, could it be that originally the 4th letter of the English alphabet was a representation of this fourth stage as well, of this doorway to the higher dimension? One thing is sure; the delta stage of mind is of great importance in terms of our retreating from the mundane, physical world of every day life living.

Sleep is comprised of several stages between alpha, theta and delta, which accumulate to several cycles per night. The length of these cycles varies considerably from one dreamer to another, and from one circumstance to another. Each sleep cycle lasts about 90-110 minutes. One cycle consists of the following outlined stages:
DIFFERENT TYPES OF DREAMS

Fundamentally, the classes of dreams can be narrowed down to two:
*Dreams arising from a CLEAR MIND
*Dreams arising from a TENSE MIND

Dreams of Clear Mind nature provide inventions, solutions to problems, healings, revelations, messages of self-realization. Dreams stemming from the Tense Mind will produce nightmares, violent scenes, emotional dreams, puzzling dreams, regular, karmic, reflections of life experiences. Karmic meaning related to one’s karma; the seemingless endless cycle of action/reaction, cause and effect; their accumulated due compensations from past actions/reactions, whether good or bad. It has been noticed that many use the word karma with the misunderstanding that “karma” means something bad. Karma can be positive OR negative, “good” karma resulting from positive actions or “bad” karma resulting from negative actions.

Benefits derived from dream awareness are as follows:

1) By conditioning or programming your dreams, they can be a means of healing oneself…

2) A means of seeing your subconscious dilemmas or mental blocks…

3) A means of receiving prophetic information/precognitive dreams/psychic dreams…

6) A pathway for receiving advance warning of bodily ailments in the making, information on the nature of the ailment, and even periodic progressive dreams to show the ailment’s current stage of development…

7) An opportunity for wonderful adventures and retreats from daily routines or problems…

8) Provides some beings with an easy, however effective avenue for learning to overcome their fears…
9) Provides an avenue of often times valuable communication with those we love that have passed on to the other dimensional planes of awareness…

10) Provides an avenue for becoming more aware of our true self…

By consulting your dream diary and a person skilled with personalized interpretation of dreams… you can successfully work with the dreaming mind and gain the benefits it was designed to give.
