Food sensitivity testing
Fortunately, the LEAP program and the mediator release test (MRT®) gives us a tool to test for the specific foods and food chemicals that are causing your symptoms. This patented blood test quantifies your inflammatory response to 150 different foods and food chemicals. With this information we can create the most effective therapy - an anti-inflammatory eating plan tailored specifically for your body that will quickly get you feeling better.
How does it work?
The Mediator Release Test (MRT®) is not a food allergy test (IgE-mediated reactions), but rather it measures a variety of immune mechanisms (IgG, IgM, IgA, C3, C4, T-cell activation, phagocytosis, etc.) that may be triggering inflammation and the physiologic effects that lead to symptoms. A blood sample is taken and when combined with each food or food chemical the volume of inflammatory mediators released from the cell are measured.
