April 19, 2009, at the Spiritual Awareness Community, Bend, Oregon. This Spirit-inspired and guided talk was given, followed by messages from Spirit to prove Continuation of Life in the Hereafter.)

All the main religions of the world teach that the soul survives and goes to “heaven” or “hell.” But, none of these religions actually prove that the soul and personality survive, except Spiritualism. If we do survive, according to some religions, we spend ete
ity “resting in peace” (if we don’t go to hell!), or floating around on clouds playing harps and singing hosannas and hallelujahs. Odd then, isn’t it, that most religions generally condemn those who do communicate with the World of Spirit, even though communication with those who are “dead” genuinely proves that the soul and personality survive “death.” It is often taught by certain religions that communication with those who have returned to the World of Spirit is unnatural and wrong, that those who do talk with the so-called “dead” are working with the devil and darkness, and that communicating with those who have passed on will hold those souls back from progressing or reinca
ating, and that, in general, this is a dangerous practice. Goodness, gracious! Great balls of fire!

I am a life-long Spiritualist, and know that contacting those in the World of Spirit is a fact, since I have done so all my life, and have been a professional medium for many years. However, in my view, it is important to ask questions, find out the facts, then decide for yourself. That’s called spiritual empowerment, and as you find out the Truth for yourself you will allow your Higher Self to grow into true knowledge and eventual enlightenment. The reality is that we are all spiritual sisters and brothers, and have an inner knowing of Life in the Hereafter, or “Summerland” (the higher realms have been called this because there is no night, only Light).

al realities. Earthly life has its challenges and sorrows, but also has its sweetness and goodness as well, and again we just need to be reminded. We have the power to determine how we perceive life’s events and how we deal with them. We are reborn into the Greater Life when we leave our earthly bodies, and we are “rebirthed” or reborn every new day here on Earth. Sometimes we are reborn several times in a day, depending on how we’re called upon to move toward Higher Ground, and to adapt and live through challenging times. It’s a new adventure every day when we open our eyes and place our feet on the floor. We never know where our feet will lead us, and what adventures await us when we walk out our front door!

Metaphorically speaking, we have the phoenix, the mythological, mystical Bird of Flames, within each of our souls. The phoenix, when done with that particular stage of its existence, bursts into flames, then becomes ashes, and is reborn from the ashes of its old life. It never dies – it is immortal. Well, our souls are immortal, and that’s not mythological! We do the “phoenix thing” each day, at new stages in our lives. Then, finally at the end of our physical Earthly existence, we leave behind our old bodies, returning them to the Earth, either through burial or the body becoming ashes through cremation. We can choose to let our “plumage” get dusty and scruffy, staying stuck in our ways of life, learning little or nothing during each day, or even our entire Earthly Sojourn. Or, we can truly allow and encourage our True Selves to be reborn each new day.

It’s a great time to consider rebirth at this very time – Spring! Everywhere we look new life is rising from so-called “death,” even sometimes from ashes where fires have destroyed entire forests and surrounding homes. New life magically pops up again, for that is the natural order of the Universe. And, the natural order of all Life is that all will rise up again from the “ashes,” here in this world and in the Hereafter, and live again in the Light.

It all boils down to this: It does matter how we choose to live here on Earth every blessed day, through our thoughts, words and our deeds. We cannot truly help this world if we only sit in meditation, prayer and contemplation. We must find ways to take some action to help and serve, no matter how small an action, outside of ourselves, our homes and our communities. The truth is that deeds, when done with the right intentions and the right vibrations, with no ulterior motives, or ego involved, move us to Higher Ground here and in the Hereafter as we evolve in the next and higher level of existence in the Spirit Realms.

Life does continue and never fades. It sometimes begins to fade here when we lose track of ourselves, then get mired in the “mud of Life,” and feel like we’re fading. When we do feel stuck and fading, we have the option to begin to claim the Ete
al Self that lives in the Hereafter and never fades, or remain stuck. God-given free will enables us to make a choice for the betterment of ourselves, and ultimately for everyone around us.

Let’s love ourselves enough to make time to touch back in with our True Selves regularly - not in a neurotic, obsessive, hyper-focused way, allowing our minds to take us over - but in a way filled with grace, where we sit in Grace and in the Light, enveloped by a host of angelic beings and loved ones who are with us today…and always. That Light and love is always being offered to us in this world so we don’t have to fade. Make time to go into the Silence whenever you can, even if it’s only a few minutes at a time, especially when the beauty of the season permits and we can sit outside to feel all that love from the Source of all that is filling and enveloping us. Then, when it comes time for us to return to the Summerland we will have kept our Light bright, and the petals, color and fragrance of our soul will not have faded. We may then choose to turn right around and shine our brightness and the beauty of our souls to those still on Earth who are fading and have lost their way. As a helpful incentive to staying bright vs. fading, know that everything we do here on Earth helps to establish the level of consciousness we will live in when we return to the Greater Life, or the Realms of Light.

Stay true to your deepest Self, stay connected, or reconnect with the Source of all Light and Love, your guides and loved ones. Live this day and this life fully and brightly. Do not allow your Self to become embittered or cynical. All fear-based thoughts negatively impact your belief in your Self and others, and in the basic goodness of Life, and the truth of the Hereafter. Create new, richer, more real, honest and Spirit-filled ways to live here and now. Allow Spirit to fill you with joy, strength, hope and renewal so that you may indeed be reborn every new day, and shine out the inner beauty of your spirit ~ here and in the Hereafter!
