“Jesus Christ knew he was God. So wake up and find out eventually who you really are. In our culture, of course, they’ll say you’re crazy and you’re blasphemous, and they’ll either put you in jail or in a nut house (which is pretty much the same thing). However if you wake up in India and tell your friends and relations, ‘My goodness, I’ve just discovered that I’m God,’ they’ll laugh and say, ‘Oh, congratulations, at last you found out.” ~ Alan W. Watts
Spiritual Awakening. Finding out.

I remember the day I found out.
It was what we in Buffalo, NY term “Beggars Night.” The day before Halloween. We called it that because kids would go out trying to get candy the night before. I was past the ‘trick-or-treating’ stage, but October 30th will always be ‘Beggars Night’ to me.
Anyway, I had sat down to meditate just like any other day, but instead of feeling the peaceful, calming, connecting feeling I always felt when I meditated, I experienced a rush of energy begin down at the bottom of my spine, flowing all the way up past my skull and out. Sometime later I found out it was actually dubbed, “Kundalini Awakening,” and for me, it was amazing.
I say for me, because Kundalini Awakening isn’t always pretty. I’ve read about some bad experiences where the energy got caught up and it was painful.
But thankfully, for me, it felt good.
I had experienced the most amazing, craziest, best experience of my life.
It was the first time I had felt spiritual energy so strong.

It was the first time I heard my spirit guide.
The first time I saw visions, and the first time I’d known that we are all actual individual pieces of God.
It was amazing. And it was a wake-up.
After that day I felt that I had been sleeping, but was no longer.
It was a spiritual awakening.

To your awakening,
