Let me get right to it: There is no failure, only an unwanted result.
That being said, at times I know that unwanted results can feel like failure. To make matters worse, if you continue to try the same method you will risk getting the same result again and again.
Examples of an unwanted results:
* Low test mark
* Undesirable outcome when you approached your boss for a raise
* A disagreement that lead to an argument
* Weight gain (which was not what you were shooting for)
* Loss of a potential new client
* A contract was not signed that should of been
Have faith though: All that is stopping you from success is a new something…
So what does one do when they want a different outcome from the situation? Try something new:
1.
Talk to your coach
2.
Brainstorm ideas for new actions
3.
Learn something new
4.
Use new communication (words, voice tone and body movements)
5.
Take a step back and think about it from the another perspective
6.
Get a new perspective from someone unbiased
7.
Get a second opinion
8.
Google your desired outcome to learn new tips
9.
Read a book on the topic
10.
Get feedback: From your coach, friend, coworker or the person directly involved
11.
Ask: What do you suggest? What have you done? What would you do?
12.
Change your behaviour to get the outcome you desire
13.
Find a new way
14.
Learn a new skill

Self coach: What can be changed? What can I do differently to get a better result?

***Making a Difference While Making a Living
Many people don't believe in the adage, "Do what you love and the money will follow," and, consequently, they spend years in unfulfilling jobs. They know, deep inside, that there is more to life (and to work) than what they’re currently doing, but they don’t believe that they can actually make a living doing something they REALLY love to do.

***A Lesson in 'Simplicity'
There are a lot of things in life that are truly complicated and challenging to solve – a long-term solution for peace in the Middle East, calculus, mapping the human genome, or deciphering if my wife is really ‘fine’ or if I’m actually in trouble. On the other hand, there are things that seem more difficult than they are – breaking bad habits, living healthier, being happy, the proper usage of “there” “their” and “they’re.”
