Terms

Terms and Conditions

Effective date: July 28, 2026

1. Agreement and operator

SelfGrowth is operated by Self Improvement Online, Inc., a New Jersey corporation (“SelfGrowth,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms govern your access to and use of SelfGrowth websites, applications, and related services that link to them (the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Additional written terms may apply to paid programs, advertising, APIs, Official Guide participation, or other specific features.

2. What SelfGrowth provides

SelfGrowth is a self-improvement publishing and discovery platform. It organizes topics, articles, resources, videos, events, experts, professional profiles, guides, ratings, and related information to help readers find potentially useful material.

Content may come from SelfGrowth, independent contributors, professionals, public sources, third parties, or imported legacy SelfGrowth records. Unless we expressly state that a fact has been verified and describe the scope of that verification, you should independently confirm credentials, claims, availability, and suitability.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Informational and educational use only

The Services contain general educational information, opinions, experiences, exercises, and professional commentary. They may discuss health, mental health, relationships, sexuality, spirituality, careers, finance, and other sensitive subjects.

SelfGrowth does not provide medical care, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, emergency services, legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, investment advice, or personalized financial advice. Content is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who understands your circumstances. Do not disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read on SelfGrowth.

If you are experiencing an emergency, may harm yourself or someone else, or need urgent medical or mental-health help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service immediately. SelfGrowth is not monitored or designed for emergency response.

No content, profile, rating, testimonial, event, resource, or Official Guide designation guarantees any result.

4. Eligibility and accounts

SelfGrowth is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account, claim or create a professional profile, submit material, or use contributor features.

You must provide accurate information, maintain control of the email address or authentication method used for your account, and promptly tell us about unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. You may not sell or transfer an account or profile-management authority without our written permission.

If you use the Services for an organization or another person, you represent that you are authorized to bind that party.

5. Independent professionals, contributors, and Official Guides

Experts, professionals, authors, event organizers, resource owners, and Official Guides are independent third parties unless SelfGrowth expressly states otherwise. Their appearance on SelfGrowth does not make them our employee, partner, agent, or representative.

A profile, listing, rating, topic connection, search position, popularity signal, recommendation, or “Official Guide” designation does not by itself constitute an endorsement, professional certification, guarantee of accuracy, or guarantee of results. “Official Guide” is a SelfGrowth editorial or program designation; it is not a government license or independent professional credential.

SelfGrowth does not provide, supervise, or control services offered by listed professionals and is not a party to your relationship or transaction with them. Contacting or selecting a professional through SelfGrowth does not create a professional-client, provider-patient, attorney-client, fiduciary, employment, partnership, or agency relationship with SelfGrowth.

You are responsible for checking credentials with the appropriate authority, evaluating fees and terms, and deciding whether a professional or service is appropriate for you.

Official Guide purchase terms

These purchase terms apply when SelfGrowth approves an Official Guide request and offers the approved participant a paid topic placement.

  • The fee is a one-time payment of $3,000 for one approved Official Guide topic placement.
  • The purchase is not a subscription and does not renew automatically.
  • The one-year term begins when SelfGrowth publishes the Official Guide after final editorial review. Payment does not itself publish the Guide; the participant must complete the required materials and editorial process.
  • After payment, the participant may not cancel the placement. Refund requests and delivery exceptions are reviewed by SelfGrowth case by case. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies required by applicable law.
  • Renewal requires a separate review, approval, and payment for a later term.

Official Guide payments are processed and collected by Rodaco Inc. as SelfGrowth's authorized payment collection agent. The charge may appear on the buyer's statement as SELFGROWTH* GUIDE. This collection arrangement does not change the underlying Official Guide participation terms.

6. Your submissions, ownership, and license

“User Content” includes profiles, biographies, credentials, articles, guide material, resource and video information, event details, images, links, ratings, feedback, and other material you submit or authorize for submission.

You retain ownership of your User Content. You represent that factual statements are accurate, that you own the material or have all permissions needed to submit it, and that the material and our permitted use will not violate law, confidentiality duties, or another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights.

By submitting User Content, you grant Self Improvement Online, Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, edit for clarity or accessibility, create excerpts and previews, index, search, summarize, display, distribute, and promote the material in connection with operating and promoting SelfGrowth. This includes SelfGrowth websites, applications, topic and profile pages, archives, feeds, search previews, authorized APIs, and SelfGrowth-operated AI-assisted discovery or synthesis features. The license may be sublicensed only as reasonably needed to service providers that operate, secure, distribute, or promote SelfGrowth, and may transfer with the SelfGrowth business or assets.

The license continues while the material is published or reasonably needed for those purposes. After removal, copies may remain in reasonable backups, legal or audit records, prior distributions, search caches, and places outside our control. Separate contributor agreements and rights associated with legacy material continue according to their terms.

This ordinary publishing license does not authorize use of your User Content to train an unrelated public foundation model. Any materially different model-training use requires a separate legal basis and appropriate disclosure or permission.

Submissions and feedback are not confidential. Do not submit trade secrets or private information that you are not authorized to publish.

7. Editorial review and moderation

We may review, fact-check, label, edit for formatting or accessibility, request corrections, reclassify, limit distribution, decline, unpublish, suppress, remove, or preserve material when we reasonably believe action is appropriate for quality, relevance, attribution, duplication, safety, law, policy enforcement, security, or business reasons.

We are not obligated to publish a submission or monitor every page, profile, link, or contribution. Publication or prior approval does not prevent later action. We may suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms or created risk for the Services or others.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the Services to:

  • submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, abusive, exploitative, or dangerous material;
  • plagiarize, fabricate sources, misrepresent credentials, impersonate others, or create a false impression of endorsement;
  • publish private or sensitive information without the necessary rights and consent;
  • submit spam, malware, malicious links, unauthorized trackers, or substantially unreviewed bulk AI-generated content;
  • manipulate ratings, search visibility, traffic, or account systems;
  • access another person’s account or probe, bypass, or interfere with security or availability;
  • scrape, crawl, systematically extract, or resell the SelfGrowth corpus or authority graph except as permitted by law, robots instructions, an authorized interface, or written permission; or
  • use SelfGrowth content to train a model without written permission, except as expressly allowed by an authorized SelfGrowth API or separate terms.

Contributors must clearly disclose sponsorships, affiliate links, referral fees, free products or services, and other material relationships where readers encounter the recommendation.

9. SelfGrowth intellectual property

Except for User Content and third-party content, SelfGrowth and its licensors own the Services, software, design, trademarks, compilations, and original content. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for lawful personal or internal business purposes.

You may link to public pages and share brief attributed excerpts where permitted by law. You may not reproduce substantial portions, remove attribution or rights notices, imply endorsement, resell access, deceptively frame the Services, or systematically copy the corpus or authority graph without permission.

10. Copyright and rights complaints

If you believe material on SelfGrowth infringes copyright or another right, send a notice identifying the protected work, the material and URL at issue, your contact information, your good-faith basis, and the authority under which you are acting. Copyright notices should include the statements and signature required by applicable law.

Send notices to webmaster@selfgrowth.com and the mailing address below. We may remove or restrict disputed material, request more information, notify the contributor, process a valid counter-notice, and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

11. Third-party content, services, links, and events

The Services may display or link to third-party content, professionals, websites, resources, videos, event registration pages, advertisements, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, security, privacy, legality, accuracy, terms, products, services, or conduct.

A link, listing, or position in the SelfGrowth authority graph does not by itself mean that SelfGrowth sponsors, recommends, verifies, or guarantees the third party. Your dealings with a third party are between you and that party and are governed by the third party’s terms.

12. Service availability, accounts, and termination

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, preservation of every submission, or continued placement, ranking, traffic, referrals, or publication. Keep your own copies of material you submit.

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access, profiles, or content when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the Services or others, comply with law, or manage the business. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” Self Improvement Online, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers disclaim express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, availability, security, and results.

We do not warrant that content is current or error-free; that a contributor or professional is qualified or available; that third-party links are safe or active; or that using SelfGrowth will achieve a particular personal, health, business, financial, relationship, or other outcome.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Self Improvement Online, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or use; personal decisions made in reliance on content; or acts, omissions, products, services, and conduct of contributors, professionals, event organizers, advertisers, or other third parties.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, their aggregate liability for claims arising from or related to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid directly to SelfGrowth for the applicable service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law and do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Self Improvement Online, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, judgments, and reasonable legal costs arising from your User Content, your violation of these Terms or law, your infringement of another person’s rights, or your misuse of the Services. We may control the defense and settlement of a covered claim, and you agree to cooperate. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify us where applicable law prohibits it.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and disputes arising from them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Subject to non-waivable consumer rights, you and Self Improvement Online, Inc. consent to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Jersey.

Before filing a formal claim, please send a written description of the issue and requested resolution to the contact information below so the parties can attempt to resolve it informally. Either party may seek urgent injunctive relief when reasonably necessary to protect security or intellectual-property rights.

17. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms when the Services, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. We may provide additional notice for material changes or when required by law. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the affected Services.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and incorporated policies are the entire agreement regarding general use of the Services, except for additional written terms that apply to a specific program or feature.
