1-Propionyl-d-lysergic acid diethylamide (also known as 1P-LSD) is a new semi-synthetic psychedelic substance in the lysergamide class. 1P-LSD for sale is chemically related to LSD and has been reported to produce nearly identical effects. Little is known about the pharmacology of 1β-LSD, but it is likely to produce its psychedelic effects by acting on brain serotonin receptors.
The original synthesis date of 1P-LSD is unknown. Reports on the use of 1P-LSD first appeared in 2015 after it appeared on the online chemicals research market. It was marketed as a legal alte
ative to LSD along with new lysergamides such as ALD-52, ETH-LAD, and AL-LAD.
User reports indicate that the subjective effects of 1P-LSD are very similar to those of LSD. 1P-LSD is thought to act as a prodrug of LSD.
[1] The chemical structure similarities between 1P-LSD and LSD predict an almost identical effect profile, which is likely to differ mainly in their rate and duration of absorption. Significant effects include geometric visual hallucinations, timestamps, enhanced self-examination, and ego loss. Its classical psychedelic effects and favorable tolerability have made it popular among users of new psychoactive substances, especially among users seeking entheogenic experiences.
Very little is known about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of 1β-LSD. It is assumed to have a similar risk and toxicity profile to LSD, although there is currently no evidence to support this. Harm reduction practices are highly recommended for the use of this substance.
1P-LSD is a molecule of the lysergamide family. It is similar to LSD and is designated a propionyl group attached to the nitrogen of the polycyclic indole group of LSD. Propionyl consists of a carbonyl chai
CH3CH2CO- attached to the amino group. 1P-LSD is homologous to ALD-52, which keeps the nitrogen-attached acetyl group in place instead of the attached propionyl group. The structure of 1β-LSD contains a polycyclic group having a hydrocyclic hexahydroindole attached to a bicyclic quinoline group. N, N-diethylcarboxamide is attached to the carbon 8 of the quinoline.
As with LSD, 1β-LSD is likely to act as a partial agonist at the 5-HT2A receptor. The psychedelic effects are believed to be primarily due to its potency at 5-HT2A receptors distributed in the brain. It is also likely to show binding activity at many monoamine receptors, such as dopamine and noradrenaline, due to structural similarity to LSD. However, the exact role of these interactions and how they lead to a psychedelic experience requires further investigation.
It has been hypothesized that 1β-LSD may act as a prodrug of LSD. Although 1P-LSD shows only 38% potency of LSD in mice, LSD is detected by LC-MS when 1P-LSD is incubated in human serum. Follow-up studies are currently underway to compare the affinity and selectivity of LSD and 1β-LSD at 5-HT receptors and to determine whether 1β-LSD is hydrolyzed to LSD in vivo. Otherwise, 1P-LSD may be able to exert its psychedelic effect.
Anecdotal reports from many users suggest that the subjective effects of 1P-LSD are so similar to those of LSD that they are virtually distinguishable from each other. Compared to other psychedelic drugs such as psilocybin, LSA, and ayahuasca, 1P-LSD is significantly more stimulating and style-specific due to its cognitive and physical effects.
The effects listed below are based on the Subjective Effects Index and the personal experiences of PsychonautWiki contributors. These effects should be taken with salt and are rare (if any) at the same time, but higher doses increase the chances of achieving a full range of effects. Similarly, side effects are much more likely at higher doses and can include serious injury or death.Article author
