3 Ways to Bring Good Cheer

I often want my life to play out like a holiday musical, where people just stop and suddenly burst into song. What I realized is that it can be like a holiday musical -- inside. When I'm in a bad mood...wow, I can really create a lot of drama, confusion and misery (for myself). When I'm of "good cheer" well...I can create something out of nothing...My suggestion is that you carry this season into the rest of your year. 1. Finding Your Theme Song Here's the thing, we can keep focusing on what brings us down or we can focus on bringing forth more of our own Divinity. So what song fills you with joy every time you hear it. My brother will often share with me songs he loves and every one, so far, makes me feel my heart dance. So select your theme song that brings you "good cheer." 2. Generosity of Spirit I admire people that truly are generous of spirit. These individuals are joyful givers to themselves and others. I'm so lucky that both of my parents shared their generous spirit of giving with me. We often can get "carried away" this time of the year and then forget about ourselves and others the rest of the 11 months. What does being a generous spirit look or feel like to you? What is your commitment to being generous to yourself and others this year? I love to purchase bees from Heifer International. I'm also committed each day to being more generous to myself and others -- that means less judgmental. 3. Act Like A Who My favorite holiday special is the Grinch. I love those Whos. They sing, even without their packages, boxes and bags. Often we can swallow our truth and after a while we blow. I suggest that this season, you set the intention to hear and speak with the frequency of unconditional love for yourself and others. This way you can declare it to be so, and enjoy!
