The struggle is real out there. As a small business owner, you have to promote your business, administer the process, take care of stationary, while also monitoring the finance. You need to make sure that you aren’t spending more than you’re making. In today’s article, I’m giving five tips through, which small businesses can save money without hampering day-to-day proceedings. You can market your business, build partnerships and increase your sales, while not having to worry about cash shortage. Without further ado, let’s dive in:

1- Find Cheaper Ways

As a small business owner, you can save a handsome amount by going for cheaper alte ate ways to run your business. Instead of renting a lavish office on the 48th floor, you can operate from your home office. You can thus, save on rent and conveyance, and also evade a substantial amount of overhead expenses. Setting your office in a co-working space is another option if you aren’t comfortable working from home. Also, keep an eye out for auctions and sales of used equipment. Second-hand office furniture or refurbished electronic equipment don’t cost you a fortune, but still, serve as good as new.

2- Negotiate with Vendors

Negotiation should be one of your strengths when you’re into business. Don’t pay what your vendors quote. Always ask around in the market with a bunch. Check if anyone has some promotional offer based on the amount of purchase or length of the contract period if any. The vendors might give you attractive discounts if you pay upfront or buy essential supplies in bulk. Vendors are often ready for negotiation and will offer you competitive rates, but you have to ask them. Also, you should check whether the vendor charges sales tax. Sales tax can be different for different states in the US. As rightly pointed by Shane in his article on Learning Jewelry.com, "American sales taxes can get quite complicated, with the taxes varying widely depending on the state." Ask vendors if he can cover sales tax for you. It might not work always, but there’s no harm in trying.

3- Consider Outsourcing

Having fewer employees skilled in different business-related processes can save you some bucks for sure. And you can always hire a freelancer for one-off tasks. Outsourcing non-core activities to an agency is another strategy to save a considerable amount of money. Paying a freelancer or a contract worker either on a per-project basis or per-hour is more economical than hiring full-time staff for the same task. Moreover, when you outsource, you will be paying only for the work done.

4- Build Partnership for Marketing

Small businesses need to market their products and services consistently. And, collaborating with other businesses can help in cutting marketing costs. Bridal shops can tie up with jewelers, photographers can collaborate with event organizers and similarly, you can partner with other businesses to reduce expenses. Cut deals for mutual benefits, organize joint sales and promote each other to a wider market. Through business partnerships, you can get more returns at a lesser expenditure.

5- Get Your Money Counted

When you’re struggling for your small business to be profitable, you need to keep track of every penny that comes in and goes out. Chaim Kessler CPA from MIAMIBEACHCPA, LLC says, “If you don’t count your money, you cannot know how you can cut costs to increase profit.” Proper capital allotment, optimization of resources and regularly checking your finance go a long way in bringing some savings for your business. After all, money unaccounted for might turn into money lost. That’s why you need an accountant. Apart from filling regular tax returns, maintaining the books and creating financial reports, an experienced accountant can also guide you through his/her expertise. Those were the five ways a small business can save money without cutting down the quality of their products and services. Working from home, using second-hand furniture, negotiating for competitive rates and outsourcing tasks to freelancers can give a significant boost to the cash reserve. Joining hands with other businesses and bringing in an accountant into the team will further cut down the expenses, without affecting profits. What other money-saving ways do you suggest? Let’s discuss in the comments.

The world is becoming more amazing to me by the day! It seems as if people have lost their place within their own society and now must be told what to do when it comes to figuring out the pending financial crisis we are heading towards in this world. The funny thing is that it really isn’t a crisis. Crisis by definition, or at least to which I am referring is: An unstable condition, as in political, social, or economic affairs, involving an impending abrupt or decisive change. By definition we are heading for a crisis; however, by assessment we are not.

As I sit down to write this article I am plagued with questions. Not from you my readers but internal questions that float around in my head which I toss to God for understanding and clarity. When I say I toss them to God I don’t mean that I fall to my knees and pray asking “Why… Why… Why?”... I talk to God internally which means to say I tap into my own God Energy. Doesn’t mean I am God, but I acknowledge the small fraction that I inhabit within God’s celestial body. So I, as well as you, am privy to its infinite power!
