1. Identify your top 3 personal and professional goals before the event. Get the ideas clear in your mind.

2. Make sure your website is set up to collect emails. Have a really cool bonus to give people that sign up on your site.

3. Make a list, on a separate sheet of paper from your other notes, of all the ideas that pop out at you as you listen to the speakers. Include things you want to take care of, marketing ideas you want to try, and people you want to connect with.

4. Consider these events to be like marathons. Set aside 10 minutes twice a day to take a vigorous walk or to stretch. Keep yourself fed but not stuffed and drink water instead of coffee. Don’t be afraid of missing something by taking time to re-energize. There will be way more to follow up on than you’ll be able to manage in this lifetime.

5. Realize event producers purposely “over-deliver.” You invested too much to be sidetracked by the amount of material you receive. Focus on your top ideas from Tip #3 and commit to taking at least one 10 minute action every day.
