If you are using the Internet to do business, which of course you are if you really want to get ahead today, then you need to find ways to bring people to your website, and convert them into actual paying customers. So, what you need to have is really great copy that is going to capture, and hold, the attention of readers. The better the copy, the more chances you have of getting more traffic to your website. Here are five great tips to make your copy give you better conversions: Go for the heart, not the brain: Most of the time, people make a lot of their purchases based on their emotions rather than logic. This is why it is so important to appeal to the heart strings of your potential customers. For example, instead of just telling them all about the benefits of a product, let them know how much it can make their lives easier, and explain how it can solve their problems, or at least some of them. Focus on what your customers need, and make this the gist of your content. This is going to go far in getting you conversions. Grow a backbone: If you are meek and mild, you are not going to get anywhere in the world of sales. Obviously, being pushy doesn't work either, but you need to find that balance. You can't be quick to back down just because a customer wants you too. You need to be able to stand your ground, all the while being understanding of your customers' needs. Your copy should also have backbone, and be able to get attention, and be assertive and positive if you want those conversions. Do something different to attract attention: People get tired of things easily, and much of the advertising that businesses use can be pretty predictable and boring. Find ways that you can really spice up your copy. For example, if you have something that no one has heard of that you are selling, announce it boldly. It is wise to shake things up once in a while. It will keep you on your toes, and it will keep your readers interested. Offering potential customers what they want and need: Your potential customers don't care about flashy logos, exciting websites or other things that are just used to grab attention. They want to know that you are going to offer them something that they can really use, or they are not going to bother with you. Basically, everyone wants to know, “what's in it for me”, and your copy should give them that information. Test your copy: In order to know if your copy is going to be effective, you have to test it first. Basically, you will want to test your advertising to see what is working. See what the responses are, if there are conversions, etc. If you are not constantly testing, you may be spending money needlessly on advertising that is not working for you. When you are testing, you will know what works and what doesn't, and you can create a successful marketing campaign.
