A time for Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude.
During these tough social times, it may be difficult to easily find a grateful attitude. A lot of people are out of jobs, houses are upside down, the economy is brutal, unemployment is high. There are serious problems everywhere in our world.
Though it may be a stretch to get to gratitude, it's important to keep in mind, that the state of gratitude is a very high vibratory emotion, and despite the benefits of remaining at this high state, we don't always count our blessings. I am very fortunate that a very good friend always reminds me to count my blessings when I am down or complaining about life's problems.
There are many blessings that we often take for granted. Life is the biggest gift, or blessing, of all. We have families; we have friends; we have health; we have a place to live, three square meals and transportation. We live in a country where we feel safe. There actually is a lot to be grateful for.
With a heart full of appreciation, we are able to remain at a very high vibration, one which is closer to spirit, one which attracts to us the greatest wealth, health and happiness.
When you meet people like his holiness the Dalai Lama you can see and appreciate that he lives in the high vibration emotions like gratitude, empathy, compassion, forgiveness and love 24/7. I know we all have a bad hair day! I do too! When that happens to me I routinely add another 30 minutes to my daily meditations and get back on the wagon of living at the high vibratory emotions.
I always like to end my meditation with the acknowledgment of my life's blessings, with deep gratitude and try to remain in that emotion for the rest of the day. It is important to include in your blessings all who have helped you and those who have harmed you. Remember you would not be who you are without all that have contributed to your life. I also include all who have crossed my path - foes and friends.
You cannot destroy hate with hate - only love can destroy hate. Revealing a strong redemptive quality in love, Abraham Lincoln said, "The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend."
And finally, Jesus said, "Love thy enemy."
See how doing so gets you better results in your life. See how - through gratitude and forgiveness - relationships are healed. See how, at this poignant time of the year, a very profound sense of gratitude can take you to a haven heretofore unimagined.
Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and a joyous Thanksgiving holiday.

About the Author
Azim Khamisa is an inspiration. Hailed by dignitaries such as the Dalai Lama, Former President Bill Clinton and Al Gore, Azim carries his inspirational message of forgiveness, peace and hope into a world in desperate need of each. Following the loss of his only son Tariq in 1995 to a senseless, gang-related murder, Azim chose the path of forgiveness and compassion rather than revenge and bitte
ess, and this amazing choice led to the establishment of the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (www.TKF.org) and the subsequent forgiveness movement which has reached millions.

Trust Your Cape
Where do you place your trust when you take a leap of faith? I was driving today and a song came on the radio about a boy who could fly because he didn’t know he couldn’t. It went something like this: Spread your armsr Hold your breathr And remember to trust your cape. What is it you are not doing in your career, life, relationships, as a parent, a friend, a writer, a teacher, an athlete that you’re not doing because you think you can’t? Perhaps you’ve not even analyzed it, or didn’t think carefully about something because you assumed it was beyond you.

Does Bouncing Back Get Easier?
How are you at bouncing back? Is it easier than it used to be? Harder? Seems like everyone and everything is bouncing back from something; unemployment, poor business, faith in America, the economy, the market, the banks, or real estate. Many marriages and relationships have fallen apart, people have gotten depressed or sick. It seems like a lot and I for one have set an intention to be optimistic in 2011. So I ask you this question: Is there really more now to bounce back from or is that just where our focus has been recently?

Does the Demand Exceed Your Capacity?
What if you were built like a computer where you could run at full speed, operating multiple programs and all at once? If you’re like me, you attempt to do just this and then get frustrated, if you (or the computer) don’t change as quickly from one program as you deem necessary…what’s wrong with this picture? Could be a simple lesson in patience, but I suspect the real reason is today’s demands exceed your capacity. Let’s take another example: Compare your mind and body to a tank of gasoline.

***Why We Must Forgive Our Parents
Few people going through a messy divorce in mid-life would blame their own parents for their predicament. Neither would a business owner betrayed by a trusted partner normally think in those terms. A person who loses his job every five years would also not say that his grandfather was to blame. ...Few people going through a messy divorce in mid-life would blame their own parents for their predicament.
