The world is becoming more and more dependent on digital data, in fact, you may have noticed that most people are no longer reading the newspaper; instead, they are going online to get their daily dose of breaking headlines. Technology has significantly impacted the way we live our lives forever and will continue to do so in the future. However, those who fail to keep up with technology are at the risk of falling behind, as a result, they are most susceptible to becoming victim to e-crimes. We all know that Flash drives are neat little devices that enable us to store loads of data in a small package, what you didn’t know is that, the smaller it is, the most likely it is to be stolen or lost. Confused? Take notice of the following example: If you use USB flash drives to transport your personal data, you may not be aware of the risks of carrying your Flash drive with you. Say for example you lose your USB device which contained your personal information and that information winds up in the hands of an identity thief; you’ll never find out about the theft of your identity because, you were not aware of the underlying threats of carrying such information in an unsecured manner. Therefore, it is always important to keep up with the latest technological trends and threats to guarantee your own security. Sadly, most elderly folks struggle to keep up with the latest technological trends, despite their best efforts to do so; some may be able to perform basic tasks on the computer, such as open chat programs, surf the internet, or write an email.
