One of my favorite quotes and the one I’m trying to live my life by. But let me back up a bit.

Those of you who spent some time in my space know that I don’t usually write personal notes. I’m more about tips and strategies (oh yes, I absolutely love strategy) for small businesses and entrepreneurs at all stages of development. So what’s different today that I decided to post a personal message? Let me explain…

First of all, I got tired.

Yes, I got tired of many things, but mostly of complaints. There are way too many complaints out there about economy, too much information, too little information, too many competitors, too little clients, too many distractions, too little time and who knows what else. And yes, I’m tired of excuses.

Secondly, I got it.

I’ve heard many clients, friends and even strangers talk about their businesses not working, about them being all over the place and not knowing what to do or how to do it. I hear you. You either know what to do and you’re not sure how to make it happen, or you know what to do and you’re doing it, but it’s not working for you. Or you may still be in a stage where you just don’t understand what you should be doing to make it all work for you. Seems like you need help, but what you’ve seen so far is not working.

Thirdly, I discovered it.

I knew for the longest time that I have a gift to offer, I just didn’t feel comfortable sharing it with others. It was so easy and obvious to me, that I thought it would be ridiculous offering it to the world. I can summarize it in three words: Belief, Strategy, Persistence. Yes, there’s way more, but this is the ultimate what you can get from me. I’m a strong believer, even in spite of hardships and tough times. When I see the problem, I can already see multiple ways how to solve it. And I never stop trying.

Fourthly, I’m about to share it

If you can use help in these areas, you will love sticking around me. You might want to start with my upcoming free teleclass where I’m about to show you exactly how you can stand up tall in this tough economy in spite of all the news on TV and Internet while making people choose you above your competitors.

Oh, What a Year It Was! I recently shared with our Best Life Design Community, an exercise by Dan Pearce of Single Dad Laughing (http://bit.ly/fGL6t0) shaking up the New Year’s resolutions process. Instead of listing everything he wanted to happen in the New Year, Dan created a future memory at the beginning of the year about how the year progressed. We encouraged our Community to write their own 2011 in review, so it’s only right that I get the ball rolling and share mine. Here it goes…

“You know what they say,” Pete said. “You’ve got to play the full 60 minutes if you want to win.” Steve began, “Let’s get started. Did everyone write some game plans for their highest priority goals?” Pete replied, “ We haven’t had time yet, Steve, but we’re going to do it this week.” Steve ...

So here he was, stuck in the office instead of watching his son play hockey. Meanwhile, Steve was out playing street hockey for three hours a day with his kids. What weighed more on Pete’s brain was that street hockey used to be the love of his life now, it was just a nuisance. Although he’d ...

I came across a video this week that features a new technology that captures people’s attention in a novel way. It’s worth watching simply to take a look and ask how you might use it in your business. But its value far surpasses this. In this video, Sir Ken Robinson, makes a powerful call for a paradigm shift in education. This struck me at a deep level, given my raising of 3 kids (including one we home schooled for a couple of years to provide him more of what he needed at the time) and my work on behalf of lower opportunity kids in the non-profit sector.
