Some of us get up in the morning, go to work, deliver our dues, go home, watch some TV, and go to bed, just to get up the next day to do the same all over again. Nothing changes, nothing new is created and there is no excitement, just that same old, eventually dull, routine that is not meant to be part of life. Really, that’s not what life is about.
I cannot emphasise this enough - we are put on this earth for a reason. Sure, that reason might not be to become this new adventurer having people in awe about all the exciting stuff we are doing, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t be adventurous, does it? Our reason for being here might also not be to invent that next new generation communication tool everybody is going to rave about, but does that mean we can’t create the life we want and deserve? No, of course not!!!! What the reason is for your being here, I don’t know, that is something you will have to work out yourself. All I know is that you, just like me, are here for a reason and if you live that reason your life and everything else, that goes hand-in-hand with it, will be unlimited.
At first, once established, this reason might seem somewhat immaterial, of no use to anybody whatsoever, but once we grasps what our purpose is and place it in the bigger picture of things, everybody’s part is a lot more important than we can imagine, we just don’t know it yet.
Look at the insignificant, seemingly “useless” mosquito. To us these creatures serve no purpose at all, but to annoy us and have us scratching, occasionally, in uncomfortable areas. When we look at the bigger picture, how-ever, their purpose is to make more mosquitos which would mean more food for the birds, frogs, fish and other animals that feed on them. Never thought about in that way, now have you? Suddenly they are no longer totally useless, are they? The same can be said about flies, ants and other insects. They all serve one or other purpose in the bigger wisdom of life. Now, if these creatures serve a purpose how can you for one moment think that you serve none, that you are placed on earth “just”?
It is important to find your purpose. Once identified and lived you will find that the things you do become a lot easier to do.
I believe that our purpose is linked to our values and our strengths . When we determine our strengths and values and live accordingly I believe that we are well on our way to living our purpose. Why else were we all given different strengths and values? Once we have determined our strengths and values and ask what we could do with these we’ll know and that the “old” routine we follow every day will change and start to have meaning.
It is said that if you don’t know where you’re going you will be most probably end up somewhere else. Let your strengths and values guide you towards your purpose and live the life you were meant to live.
