Wells Brookfield Cone / Plate viscometer / Rheometer gives researchers a complex regular measure the absolute viscosity of small fluid samples. Its cone and plate geometry provides the necessary development of complete rheological data accuracy.

Principle of operatio

Wells Brookfield Cone / Plate viscometer / Rheometer precise torque meter which is powered by a single speed. The torque measuring system, which consists of a calibrated beryllium copper spring, a rotating cone, senses resistance of the sample fluid between the cone and stationary plate causes rotation of the drive mechanism.

Resistance to rotation of the cone produces a torque proportional to the fluid shear stress. The torque value is specified in the collection or digital display, depending on the model. This reading is easily converted into absolute centipoise units (mPa · s) of the predetermined range of diagrams. Alternatively, viscosity can be calculated from the known geometric constants of the cone rotational speed and torque stress.

The proper relative position of the cone and plate, get a simple mechanical procedure without additional external cameras or devices.

Stationary plate shaped sample cup, which can be removed at the bottom, fill in 0.5 ml to 2.0 ml of sample fluid (depending on the use of cone), and remounted without calibration. Sample cup is jacketed and pipe fittings for connection to a constant temperature circulating bath.

The system operating range ± 1.0% accuracy. The reproducibility is ± 0.2%. Operating temperature range is from 0 ° C to 100 ° C.

Different taper spindle can be used with Wells-Brookfield Cone / Plate instruments. One cone spindle of the instrument is calibrated for use in the sample cup. Additional cone spindles may be purchased to be calibrated for use with the same sample cup.

Universal

Wells-Brookfield Cone / Plate viscometer / Rheometer provides a wide range of shear rate and viscosity ranges, which can be extended for a further modified cone spindles. Different models can be selected to meet the specific requirements of different viscosity and shear rate.

Shear rates as high as 1875 sec-1 (DV III Ultra Rheometer) can be achieved.

Small sample volume permits rheological evaluations of material when the sample is limited, such as biological fluids and thick film coatings that contain precious metals.

All wetted parts are stainless steel, corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. Optional purge fitting, luer fitting, and integrated temperature probe is available.
