For many people the word "marketing" and "advertising" are interchangeable, but when it comes to search engine marketing are two very different things.
What's the difference?
Search engine marketing can be a form of advertising because they are essentially put small ads in the search engine results pages for potential visitors, customers or clients to see. However, the intention to do so very different from the intentions of the implementation of a basic ad in your local newspaper or a directory.
Through an ad, your goal is to attract others to visit your business, buy a certain product or any other action that is profitable for you. The ultimate goal is to provide some of the benefits of all that itches.
When using the search engine marketing, is the ultimate goal is a bit different. You try to reach a certain market. You want them to know that your site exists and what it has to offer. Even if the time you make a sale or someone to sign up for your newsletter, the ultimate goal really is to open a conversation with your target group.
You do not expect most people click on the link to a page of search engine results and immediately make a purchase. That makes no sense, since its announcement in the pages of search engines is not configured for a direct sale. It is only to inform members of your target group that exists and convince them that a reliable source for information and / or products and services they seek.
If you get a click and hang around for a while, you have your link on the results page the search engine work. Therefore, the search engine marketing is more about the attention and a dialogue with its customers.
Advertising is different, because they are trying to sell directly through the ad. Think of the ads in magazines. Some want to go to a site, but most of these sites landing pages with additional revenue. They are valuable and informative content you create on your website.
In short, advertising is designed for direct sale, without dialogue, while search engine marketing goes hand in hand in the air so that others know that you are something of value when they get to know better.
Which is better?
, Search engine marketing because it is very good marketing with social media that they have a similar purpose. Both are ways to communicate with your target audience and convince them that they are the authority on its territory. Advertising does not really, because consumers know they are reading. The goal of search engine marketing is to give the impression of sincere and legitimate, this means not only a display.
Advertising has been in business for many years and is still on some strategies work online, but if you simply try online advertising is not going to work. Online marketing requires more support and requires that the sense of a relationship and understanding of your market. It requires a thorough search engine marketing.
