The method of virtual training has become a common trend in most of the organizations. e-learning providers are focusing on developing content which is not only accessible via mobile phones but can also be integrated with the social media. There are various advantages associated with the online training modules. Firstly, these can work effectively across geographical barriers, an in-house employee and an employee sitting in a far-off location can be trained simultaneously. Secondly, tools like audio-visuals, graphics and games have made the learning process simpler and interesting. The trainees can access the training material from anywhere, anytime. The training program can be coupled with social networking sites for an interactive experience. The companies, which are engaged in providing e-learning solutions, make sure that the content is industry specific; they not only keep the firms updated about the latest developments in the sector in the global arena, but also work to deal with the problem areas of the clientèle. The training requirements of a bank would obviously differ from that of a retail firm and e-learning service providers cater to the different needs of the clients effectively. Moreover, e-learning ensures active participation of the learners, thereby, encouraging collaborative learning. The participants exchange their views and ideas on the subject, which enables them to understand the subject thoroughly. The evaluation reports are automatically generated and employees get their feedback immediately. One of the most important things is that the e-learning content can be modified and updated time to time. The e-learning is scalable, which means that, with the growth and development of the organization, the learning module can be changed and developed. Though there are many advantages associated with the e-learning solution, but by looking at the other side of the coin, one could find disadvantages as well. The employees sometimes find it difficult to adapt to the technological advances and are not well-versed with the usage of the mobiles, tablets or computers. It is evident that unless, there are proper mandates from the company, a very less number of employees would read the training modules themselves. When the trainer is not physically present, it becomes difficult for the trainees to clear their doubts, if any. Moreover, the company is not able to judge whether the employee is actually reading and learning the modules. Before integrating the online training module into traditional training practices, it is important for the organizations to intelligently choose e-learning providers. The quality of the content, its instructional design and functionality are a few of the important things one must consider before choosing an online service provider.

I have a cousin who chose to become a carpenter rather than going to college. Fortunately for him and those who benefit from his beautiful work, he did not heed the advice of many family members who told him he would fail and never make money without a college degree. Once, while he was on vacation, he came to my home in Hawaii. It was hot. At the time the only air conditioning I could afford was a window unit, but I had no window to put one in.
