Age Is No Barrier to Dreams
Written by Tana Dean
Where do dreams come from? Perhaps, from the deepest places within us, where our life’s mission was placed when we were created. As unique individual beings we all have a special life’s mission given to each of us. Part of our purpose is to find it, develop it, give it to others and create our own Peace by being in sync with it.
It is learning to be comfortable with our unlimited possibilities. The very act of you reading this article is part of my life mission and definitely a dream come true. As a young mother with little education one of my dreams was to be educated. However, I knew that going to college and receiving a degree was not an option.
That did not stop me from fulfilling many of my dreams and now, at age 60, I feel that my dreams are expanding far beyond what I imagined was possible. As an author, website developer and eco-preneur my life is filled with dreams. I dream of fulfilling a mission of building a more peaceful, healthy planet one person at a time. I’m learning to dream BIG!
Age is no barrier to dreams, later in life can be an inspired beginning. Perhaps you had responsibilities that had to be taken care of earlier in your life. After a lifetime of challenging and wonderful experiences age can be a catalyst to finding your voice and knowing how to use your experience and wisdom to be heard.
Our planet is in need of elders who dare to dream. We have an opportunity to fulfill our dreams and go beyond anything we have ever experienced. Using our fierce independence and voices to support and challenge those around us we can leave a legacy to our children, grandchildren and beyond by acting on our dreams.
Living our dreams is living by example. By example we teach fearlessness and how dreams can and do come true. It could be the greatest legacy that we could ever leave.
Dreams are more than wonderful visions in our heads. They must be met by action, it is action that manifest our dreams so that we are enveloped and experiencing what we have chosen to create.
Here are some suggestions to reactivate those dreams:
1. Set aside some time and let your mind flow. Releasing the dreams that have been waiting to be heard is a process that will help you begin to reconnect with your life’s purpose.
2. Spend some time writing out your dreams. Whether they are elaborate or simply stated there is an energy created by the act of writing them down, no judgment on your part. It begins the manifestation process.
3. Be patient. Write, rewrite, let your mind flow, practice for as long as it takes you. It could be a week, month or year. This is a process that will change and rearrange itself. It takes time for the dreams to reappear and flow.
4. Expect change. Your dreams will change as they become clearer and you begin finding your life’s purpose.
5. Create action. Dreams need action to manifest. So, chart your course of action and begin.
As I dreamed and wrote down my mission: building a more peaceful, healthy planet, one person at a time, how unworthy I felt. I had placed pictures of the people I most respected on my dream board and knew these were the people I wanted to emulate and to emulate them meant my dream had to be BIG! Now I am excited that I created such a lofty dream, it is limitless. I am not sure how to get there, but, I know that the journey is a joy, the dream includes all beings and my days are filled with excitement.
Find your dreams, create them, live them and share them with others.
