Alopecia – The Autoimmune Disorder
An autoimmune disorder occurs when your immune system becomes misguided and attacks healthy tissue. In the case of alopecia, the immune system attacks healthy hair follicles causing the hair to fall out leaving the scalp very smooth.
The three forms of alopecia include:
1) Alopecia Areata - patches of bald spots, usually on the scalp, but they also can be in the beard or other areas
2) Alopecia Totalis - complete loss of scalp hair and often eyebrows and eyelashes. This form is especially frustrating if you are a woman because you still have to shave your legs and underarms.
3) Alopecia Universalis - total loss of all body hair
My Story and How You can Prevent Hair Loss
I had alopecia totalis from 1984 – 1995. It started as alopecia areata (scattered bald spots) and developed into alopecia totalis where I lost all the hair on my head plus my eyebrows and eyelashes. This was a time before the internet and I felt like I was the only person in the world with this horrid condition. I felt helpless to prevent hair loss. I wore a wig for 11 years and it was very frustrating when I wanted to go swimming or when I needed to wear a helmet or drive in a convertible.
In 1995 I developed a formula for my daughter, Autumn. She had Epstein Barr and was very ill. Doctors said, “It is her immune system and the only thing you can do is make sure she gets enough rest.” Well I thought if she got any more rest, she would be in a coma. She could barely make it through the day and she was a senior in high school at the time. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and follow my instincts. Remembering what my grandmother and family friend, John Lonewolf had taught me about herbs. I concentrated on the safest herbs that balanced and strengthened the endocrine (immune) system such as, ginger, kelp, pau d’ arco and licorice. I made it in tincture form. As a matter of fact, I made a whole Mason jar full. Autumn recovered nicely in about 6 weeks and I still had quite a bit of tincture left.
Now, after having Alopecia Totalis for 11 years I gave up hope of having hair again. But I thought I would take the Endocrine Strengthener with the single hope of getting fewer colds. Within a month I noticed hair was growing back, AND it never fell out, and I have had hair ever since. If I go for two weeks without taking Endocrine Strengthener I sometimes started loosing eyelashes again. All I do is resume the tincture to prevent hair loss.
It’s important to keep in mind that although alopecia is not life threatening, it isn’t not uncommon for the immune system to attack other healthy parts of the body. In my case it was my thyroid gland.
Clearly I didn’t develop Endocrine Strengthener as a natural hair loss treatment albeit a very effective one; it doesn’t treat the symptoms, it corrects the cause. So to prevent hair loss due to alopecia, start taking Endocrine Strengthener at the first signs of any unusual hair loss or bald spots.
Endocrine Strengthener works for much more serious autoimmune disorders such as, Crohn’s Disease, Lupus and Epstein Barr. I never thought that I would have hair again but as it turned out there are safe and natural remedies to prevent hair loss due to alopecia. http://www.myhealingpath.com/page/479065589
Be sure to check with your doctor.

About the Author
Lori Jacobs was born in Queens NY in 1956 but moved to the pristine Lake Owassa NJ where she lived with her parents, brother and mate
al grandparents.
She now has lived with her husband of 40 years in Saylorsburg Pennsylvania since 1988. They have two children, Autumn and Christoffer, both in their 30’s and they are blessed with three grandchildren. Lori has been a practicing Herbalist since 1995 and a Master Energy Healer since 1999. She is a Reiki Master and a “Truth in Healing” Master.
In 1995 she developed a formula for her daughter who, as a senior in high school had Epstein Barr and was very ill. Every doctor told her, “It is her immune system and the only thing you can do is make sure she gets enough rest.” But her daughter was sleeping almost every hour she wasn’t in school. She could barely make it through the day. So Lori decided to take matters into her own hands and follow her instincts, she remembered the herbs that were taught to her as a child by her Norwegian grandmother and her father’s friend who was a Ute Indian. Concentrating on the safest herbs that balanced and strengthened the endocrine (immune) system, she made an herbal tincture she called Endocrine Strengthener. This did help her daughter who was back to normal in about a month’s time.
Lori started taking the Endocrine Strengthener too, in hopes that it would minimize the many colds that she was dealing with. Lori had suffered from alopecia totalis since 1984 and much to her surprise, after several weeks of taking Endocrine Strengthener, she was astonished to find new hair growing and that her hair didn’t fall out as it had for the past 11 years.
Over the years Endocrine Strengthener has demonstrated to be beneficial for many autoimmune disorders such as Lupus, MS, and Crohn’s Diseaser
Since then, Lori has developed many safe and highly effective herbal tinctures for conditions such as arthritis, migraines, cholesterol, diabetes, urinary tract infections, hepatitis, fibromyalgia, depression, asthma and male/female hormone replacement therapy.
In 2002 she combined her talents of Herbalism and Energy Healing with the start of her new business called “The Healing Path” It is a house-call practice that Lori says is very convenient for her clients. There are times after an energy healing when the client can feel a bit light headed and dizzy, and for that reason it is best that they do not have to drive right away. Being in their own home affords them the opportunity to relax and settle into their energy shift.
Lori also has considerable experience working with clients with candida who have fibromyalgia and those who are interested in weaning off of pharmaceuticals and anti-depressants.
All Lori’s herbal therapies are her own original, handcrafted formulas.
