Alysa Liu: Olympic Darling, Numerology Dream

Alysa Liu recently captured the attention and hearts of watchers all over the world with her stunningly original and powerful 2026 Olympic figure skating free style gold medal performance.

Her demeanor, presence and persona throughout the Olympics revealed a refreshing and seldom (if ever) seen display of self expression, unburdened confidence and willingness to stretch (bend? discard?) age old doctrines and protocols that had become attached to the sport.

Interviews with before and particularly after the Olympics reveals a touching insight into the rigors, pressures and demands of the sport along with the added insistence especially from her father. It is worth watching and reading the before and after interviews and articles about this fetching and charming young talent.

In the end (well, up until this point) she emerged out of a world of draconian long and arduous practice sessions, the demands of competition and meeting their expectations, commercial considerations, finally combined with all of the restraints and rigors of the Olympics. AND, what an emergence!

Alysa came out of all of this finally competing on her own terms without a care about medals and public opinion displaying a beaming smile and joyful sense of just being true to herself and thoroughly enjoying the sport as her form of artistic expression.

She took the bold step of presenting her own dictated style, art and theory of skating amid the staid and some might say stale Olympic traditions.

The number 3 is associated with beauty, creative and artistic expression, communication, media and connection to true feelings among many. Her joy of performance was clearly visible, and her interpretation of skating greatly appreciated by spectators and, surprisingly, by the judges as well.
