Just when you think you nailed it, life happens. You have to laugh at the irony of it all. It is those times when you mail out all of your bills just to receive five more bills in the mail. It is when you save up for something special and you end up spending the money on something else.
It is those times when you map out an entire vacation and the weather changes. Sure, you might have to adjust some things on your itinerary, but you can still have a great time.
I smile when I see senior citizens because they get it. They have grown accustomed to life’s little ups and downs. And the beautiful thing about them is their carefree attitude they have toward it. They know that stressing and worrying is not going to help any situation. They understand just how precious each and every moment is in life; and that it might not be a glorious moment, but it is still a moment that has to be enjoyed, somehow. They have lived through the births and deaths, and felt the hand of a caring person. And the important lessons in life … don’t rush time; it comes fast enough, and always be willing to help out your fellow man.
Life and all its simplicity is bestowed upon us. We can either laugh or cry at the moments we are given. The choice is up to us. So when the car breaks down, or your position gets illuminated, or your vacation gets put on hold, embrace it and do your best to get through it knowing that the next moment life will continue and it will change again.
No situation is permanent. I can accept that easier tha
I could the sameness of a day. So I learn to take whatever life’s big or little tragedies get thrown my way, and ask myself a couple of important questions:
1. Can I change this situation? Yes or No. What will the outcome be?
2. Do I want to change this situation? What can I learn from it?
3. Will this situation change me? How?
We are not meant to understand all of life’s moments. We don’t know why some people part from this world when and how they do. We have no control over mergers or layoffs, but we can rebuild ourselves after them. Just as you mail out that bill, you are just as assured you will get more in the mail tomorrow. Live every moment joyfully and to the fullest, and as you carry on, then there will be life.
