Introductionr
Benjamin Franklin:
“Life’s tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.”
A tragedy is a dramatization of any event that has magnitude. The tragedy arises from your self pity and fear. The dramatization brings solace of its own. It gains for you attention and sympathy from others.
A dictionary definition of a tragedy is “A disastrous event, especially one involving distressing loss or injury to life.
Tragedy drama is a play with the disastrous downfall of the central character. In real life, that character is you. You create the drama.
I agree that life changing events can be hard to handle; Events such as, disease, loss of a loved one, loss of one of your senses, loss of mobility.
All of these are difficult to handle; but they are being handled courageously every day by thousands of people.
We’re speaking of more minor types of losses although the principles of coping are the same. Things such as:
Loss of a job
Loss of love
Loss of money
By taking one of these events and dramatizing it, you become a Tragedy Queen. Either male or female can play the roll. Your sex doesn’t matter.
What matters is seeking sympathy from others and rolling around in self pity.
Emmet Fox states in well:
“Self pity, by making us feel sorry for ourselves, seems to provide an escape from responsibility, but it is a fatal drug nevertheless. It confuses the feelings, blinds the reason, and puts us at the mercy of outer conditions.”
1. When a tragic event happens, refuse to accept it as defeat. Refuse to let it become the governing force in your life. By dramatizing and being tragic about events, you are accepting and embracing defeat.
Examine the events, evaluate them. Ask yourself, am I simply dramatizing a disastrous event?
Calamity and misfortune are events that can result in painful loss and confusion. But they do not have to become a drama unless you choose to make them one.
2. Why do they come? They occur because we need a life lesson. Events in our lives are always there for us to learn from. Use your personal power to affirm victory over events, do so by drawing on the Universal Power.
You’ll discover just how powerful you are by overcoming or adapting to events.
3. Where does the tragedy live? It lives in your mind. Divine Power can overcome all maladies.
Calamities are always in your mind. Consider people like Helen Keller, and others who had terrible misfortune but they got on with life and made great contributions to all of us.
4. What should you do about it when misfortune and calamity come?
A. Maintain positive thoughts
B. Evaluate the situatio
C. Look for an opportunity to grow
The door of opportunity never closes. You may need to open yet another door and then another one. Remember that the Universe never closes one door without opening another.
5. How should you deal with misfortune? Get a grip, take a deep breath, find some humor in the situation, examine the possibility of an opportunity, latch onto a positive action, make a positive plan and get to work on that plan. Look for the blessing.
Overcome the tragedy mentally and don’t blow it out of proportion.
Get back to living. It’s like falling off a horse. You must get right back on.
Dale Carnegie:
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses looming outside our windows today,”
Summary
W.M. Lewis:
“The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.”
When misfortune comes learn to deal with it. Do Not Dramatize it. The more you make it larger than life the more you slide into the role of Tragedy Queen.
Steps to take:
1. Write down what happened
2. Write down what you can do about it
3. Decide on a positive course
4. Take actionr
People live on after all sorts of calamities, you can too.
Remember, always practice:
1. Daily meditation and spiritual reading
2. journal writing
3. Affirmations
4. Action
5. Humor

Do what you love and love what you do
One of my greatest joys is helping people make their dreams come true. There's just something purely magical about the sparkle in their eyes when they are doing what they love. I think it resonates so loudly with me because I know how they feel. Only recently did I have the courage to work for myself and do what I love
