So you've see
"The Secret", you've got a vision board and you are visualising twice a day but no sign of financial abundance yet! You might be wondering how much longer it's going to take. However, chances are that if you're still waiting for it to show up, you're focussing on the absence of what you wish to manifest, which will simply create more of its absence in your life. Whatever you are focussed on you are giving energy to. Whatever you give your energy to you are inviting more of into your life, so you may be inadvertently filtering out your abundance. The solution is to give energy to what you want more of and filter out what you don't.

Perception has a huge impact on how you create your life. What you see is what you focus on and what you focus on is what expands. There is no off switch to creating your life, you are always creating your future whether you realise it or not through the thoughts you give energy to. What you create depends on what you see and your thoughts determine how you see it.

We do not look at life objectively but view it through our biased filters made of beliefs, mindsets and past experiences. We live in a world of duality where there is black and white, day and night, sun and moon. These filters influence our outlook, so we see more sun than night, more black than white etc. We ‘see’ depending on where our attention is – if you wanted to buy a red car, you’d suddenly notice how many red cars there are around.

We all manifest according to our filters, so if your filters include scarcity your outlook will give more attention to supporting evidence of scarcity. Any instances of abundance will be filtered out of your awareness, you will not see them. As what you focus on expands, if you focus on scarcity this is what will expand.

On the other hand, walking around with filters which include abundance is much more fun as only evidence supporting abundance is allowed through. Everywhere you go and in everything you do you only see instances of abundance, from the leaves on the trees to the gifts within setbacks, leaving only abundance for you to notice and therefore abundance to thrive in your life.

Contrary to popular belief, it is your filters that determine the quality of your life, not the experiences themselves. You are not a poor helpless victim of circumstance, you always have choices. It's not what you see, it's how you see and this depends on your filters. Your filters determine where your attention goes and where attention goes, energy flows.

For example, two people who have attended an interview and been unsuccessful for that position will feel very differently after, dependant on their filters. The candidate with filters of scarcity will be focussed on what they lacked to secure that position and maybe wonder if they will ever get a job or if they should set their sights lower. Feelings of inadequacy, hopelessness and low self-confidence are being focussed on here; leading to more situations that support these feelings.

The candidate with filters that include abundance will look at the situation in terms of the experience they received, listen to the feedback as tips to move forward and know that it probably wasn't the right role for them that perfect role is coming to them, so at least they're available for it. As feelings of confidence, optimism and hope are being focussed on here, more situations that support these enjoyable feelings will arise.

There are opportunities to see abundance everywhere, even when dealing with your finances. Viewing your bank balance can be a stressful affair for many due to scarcity filters. However, viewing your statements with abundance filters on sifts out the focus on lack and enables you to see enjoyable experiences with a value attached rather than the cost.

Know that your experience of the world largely depends on your filters. If you do not like where you are right now, figure out what filters you have and decide which filters you would prefer. If it's joy you want just choose filters that let abundance and happiness through. It’s a matter of choosing how you interact with the world and how you want the world to interact with you.
