Once you have a strong foundation set in the client attraction process and in your business which consists of a mindset for success, a niche and a clear magnetic message, it is imperative in on line marketing that you have a place to collect the email addresses of your prospect, a.k.a. List building.
So generally speaking we are talking about a website/blog here. Now if you don't have a website set up yet, that's fine, you don't have to have a website. All you actually need in reality if you are just starting out is a landing page or a squeeze page as it is generally called.
You can set a page up very quickly and very easily by using either weebly.com or wordpress.com. Both are very straightforward. Weebly.com is literally drag and drop and has little videos that tell you how to do it. So there's no reason not to get going on it now.
So the squeeze page has the clear message on there in the language that your ideal client will recognise as speaking directly to them. And the most important element after the message on your squeeze page, is the opt in box. An opt in box is a box that allows people to enter their email address to subscribe to your mailing list.
Now, here's the vital part of the equation. You must offer your visitor something extremely valuable in return for their email address.
This is where they are going to get their first real taste of you and the transformation you can help them make. This is what I call the freebie. This is where you are giving them something of value, something you would sell.
And it is so important that this freebie is offering them the solution to that question that keeps them awake at 3am in the morning. If someone was lying awake at 3am in the morning and they went to their computer and Googled their pain looking for a solution, and if they landed on your page, your freebie would answer that for them, and so they would sign up there and then.
So it has to be something they can get their hands on immediately. We live in a society where we want everything now. When someone comes in to meet you for the first time, let them have that first taste now. It could be an e-book, a report, an audio, a 6 part e course, a video. As long as it gives them what they are looking for, they will sign up.
It's really not a good idea to offer a free session or consultation as your freebie, it needs to be something really easy for them to agree to, something that requires the least amount of effort possible on their part.
So this is a vital component of the attracting clients effortlessly process. Without the opt in box and the freebie, you will be leaving money on the table because when people Google and come to your website, they are there on average of 7 seconds. That's how long you have to show them that you can help them.
If you don't have the option for them to sign up, and for you to start building a relationship with them, then that's where you are losing, they will likely leave never to be seen again. You are actually doing them a disservice by not offering that option too. It's a bit like inviting someone to a party and then not offering them a drink or a bite to eat! Give them a taster and then they can decide if they want to stay with you or not.
So your squeeze page, home page, or it can be a blog site, you don't have to overcomplicate this, as long as the opt in box is there, this is now your central point to drive traffic to. This is like head office for you now. On your business card, this is where you can point people to, get your “freebie” at your website address. On the back of my business card it says ...... Do you want more clients? Get your free audio recording, “3 Secrets to Attract Clients without Spending a Penny” at www.sheelamasand.com.
And this is what is so fantastic about the freebie system. It is so easy to move your potential clients into the next step of getting to know you. When you meet someone at a networking meeting, for example, instead of trying to sell them on your product or service, this is what you can do, point them into getting a free taster of something that is extremely valuable to them, that offers them a solution.
And this is what I suggest you do wherever you are doing your marketing, on line or off line. Bring your potential clients into your tribe, your community, onto your list via the freebie. And then you start to build the relationship.
