Producing your first info-product may be easy for you if you like to write, are disciplined with your time, and have some technology skills. However, most of us aren’t expert at everything! We just don’t have the time, energy, and knowledge to be skilled at all that’s necessary to produce and promote info-products. We may be skilled at the service we provide, and we’re knowledgeable in our subject area. But we may not have skills in writing, editing, graphics, copywriting, time management, setting up a website, and online promotion. There are many moving parts to the Info-Product Success System that I teach, and one person simply cannot do it all. You’ll have to eventually find a team of experts and valuable resources. Just about everyone needs the time and talent of others to achieve our goals. Just know that once you find the best people and the best resources, you can use them over and over with each info-product you create! If you’re like me, I’m sure you have some objections to hiring others to help out. You may be thinking you don’t know where to find the best people and resources. Or you’re not comfortable trusting others to do as good a job as you can. Maybe you’re conce ed about finances and don’t feel you can afford to hire others and that you’ll save time and money doing it all yourself. And lastly, you’re worried that you like to be in control and aren’t very good at delegating and getting the best from others. Believe me, I hear you. I’ve had all these objections at one time or another. And they’re all valid. I like to be in control, I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and I find it difficult to pay others for what I think I can do myself. HOWEVER, I hit a wall when trying to get certain things done that I just couldn’t do. I realized that I could not grow my business if I didn’t reach out to others. If I didn’t find people who could do what I couldn’t or who could do it better. And I needed excellent resources so I could reach my list, set up teleclasses, and produce quality products. So I encourage you to wake up to the reality of being a successful infopreneur: you need a great team of people and resources to carry you all the way to success! Now, if you’re wondering how to find the best team members and resources, my advice is that it takes education and experience. Take a bunch of teleclasses, webinars, and live seminars. Ask for referrals. Build relationships. Start small and grow from there. I started with a $10/hour college intern and now, two years later, I have the greatest virtual assistant. Soon, I’ll be releasing a new e-book on Producing Info-Products and I go into how to build a team in greater detail. But for now, here are a few tips to get you started:
  • Make a list of all the tasks you need to accomplish in producing and promoting your info-product
  • Check off the ones you know you can do
  • Make a list of the tasks you’ll need to outsource
  • Start a list of potential team members and resources
Some examples are: virtual assistant, copyeditor, graphic designer, PDF software, autoresponder program, and a source for images. Start a Word doc called “Resources” and add names and URLs as you do your research, take classes, and ask for referrals. I’m invested in your success as an infopreneur, so let me know what else I can do to help you reach your goals! And please sign up for my mailing list so you’ll be among the first to know about my e-book launch. Happy Info-Products.
