Rather than embracing religious or spiritual teachings blindly, nquestion what you read or hear and consider other viewpoints.

For those who claim that metaphysical practices such asnastrology and numerology are sinful, we recommend readingn"The Christian Conspiracy," by Dr. L. David Moore, who isna life-long Christian. Dr Moore outlines the Vatican politicalnprocess of cannon selection (the editing of the Bible) that tooknplace for 500 years after the death of Jesus. Some principlesnmade the cut, many others were thrown out, and all decisionsnwere based on the opinions of a religious group attempting tonmake their organization the most popular and powerful.

Dr Moore writes, "The major point to be understood is thatnthe Old Testament upon which so much of early Christianityndepended in order to have a historical basis and to becomenlegitimized, didn’t officially exist until well after
Christianity had been established and even after much of whatnlater became the New Testament had been written. In addition, none major reason for establishing the Old Testament as canonnwas because during the first century C.E., Christianity wasndistorting the historical record in order to enhance their ownnnew religion."

Surely one recognizes the strong potential in the productionnprocess of the Bible for many spiritual truths to be overlookednand even avoided altogether.

Also, historical evidence points to the idea that thenmanufacturing of Christianity involved borrowing heavilynfrom Pagan and other ancient spiritual philosophies (manynwere distorted to suit the Church's views).

Regarding the fear of demonic possession by exploringnmetaphysical practices, practicing any form of spiritualityn(including organized, traditional ones) from a base of fea
can lower your vibration and make you more susceptiblento negative energy.

Dr Moore goes on to say, "In addition to the extensivenediting and rewrites of the Bible, there was the influencenof the Inquisition or the Holy Calling (1231--1820). This wasnestablished by the Papacy to punish anyone who expressed anbelief in reinca
ation or practiced anything metaphysicalnthat would threaten the universal control of the Church. Theynproclaimed these beliefs as the work of the devil and anynbelievers were sent to dungeons, tortured, or burned tondeath."

Fear of persecution in many ways still exists today.

There are many different ways to connect with spirit:
Meditation, prayer, attending religious or spiritual services, nspending time in nature, making love, enjoying a good meal, nand many others. If your preferred method is legal, it worksnfor you, and if you've done your homework to make sure itnisn't hurting you or anyone else, go for it.
