I get quite a few emails from guys dating Chinese women in America and Canada, and one of their biggest fears, apart from how to attract her, is that they will make a mistake in the dating process and really mess up their chances. In truth, understanding the cultural perspective that she's received from her parents and had reinforced by the Chinese community surrounding her, is quite important. It can be the difference between her making a physical-emotional commitment or not.
Let me clear on one thing with you, seeing as we really want to get to the crux of the situation in the beginning; Chinese women do not really distinguish between physical and emotional commitment; for the most part they look for a male that can fulfill the emotional long-term relationship criteria and then choose to get physical with that male; no matter mainland Chinese women or north American born Chinese women, it's the same result. it's not the male who made the choice, it's the Chinese woman in question. And more importantly, if she gets intimate with you, she has in fact already made a form of commitment.
Bearing all of this in mind I want to explain a couple of things you can do that are likely to result in Chinese American or Chinese Canadian women having a strong attraction to you:
Firstly, even before you have asked for a date, you should make sure you are pretty clean-cut. It's a rare Chinese woman that likes the 'rough and ready' or grunge look. They get this from the Chinese mainland's culture (including the ones not even born there!), even sometimes when they are not aware of it. In mainland China it's pretty much only garbage men, farmers and poor artists that maintain facial hair.
Now she may well be brought up in north-America, and there is a possibility that she is a bit different from mainland Chinese, but by my own estimation based on experience, it's still a seven out of ten ratio of Chinese females who dislike facial hair on a man in the west, compared to a nine out of ten ratio in mainland China. So basically put, in this case, it's much better to go with the odds and lose the facial hair!
Secondly, the Chinese women in question, although born in America or Canada, will still approximately have as much as about 35 to 40 percent mainland Chinese cultural conditioning as part of their personality which cannot be avoided.
So, another fantastic tip in view of the fact that the mother in Chinese culture is so revered, is to emphasize your strong family ties and your view that family is very important, and this is especially so in view of your relationship to your own mother, this small piece of advice really cannot be underestimated! The Chinese woman in question will then consider you an excellent bet, and remember, short-term and long-term dating relationships are mostly equal in a Chinese females psychology!
