Being Grateful
Written by Kristen Birmingham, MS, MFT, LADC
Are you truly grateful for what you see before you each day?
To be grateful is to be proud of the decisions we have made in our lives and to be confident that our decisions are directly linked to the life we are creating for ourselves. Too often we expend or energies complaining about our lives, what we are doing, why we feel this way or that way, and blame others for our current situations.
The truth of the matter is we are where we are at because of the decisions we have made for ourselves. When we complain, we are only putting up a smoke screen to avoid having to take full responsibility for our lives and ultimately our decisions.
When we begin to change our mindset and focus on the things in our lives that we are grateful for, we begin to see that we are in control of our desires and only we are responsible for making our desires a reality!
Everyday I wake up feeling grateful for my life, my health, my beautiful family, my surroundings, the time I have to make choices and for the choices I make in my life. I avoid complaining about "feeling stuck" in my life. Instead, I embrace each day as a new beginning.
And so can you.
Each new day offers us the opportunity to positively impact our own lives, by re-framing our thoughts, feelings and beliefs on what we have to be grateful for. When we do this, we are sending positive vibrations into the universe which will ultimately give us back positive results!
Wow, who knew it was so simple! It is true folks! We are responsible for all that we are, all that we have and all that we will become.
What would it be like for you to create the life you truly desire?
