Benefits and uses of black seed oil
If you have done a superficial reading of the articles of black seed oil, you will have realized that it has been related to the benefit of everything from the health of your skin to respiratory problems and cancer.
But a small seed can't help with every health problem you have, right? This is true, but black seed oil can help with a surprising amount of health problems. The following are just some of the conditions with which black seed oil can help you.
1. Digestion
One of the problems that black seed oil has been used for centuries to help treat it is indigestion. As a result, that's fair with money since the seeds and oil that come from them are a natural carminative, a substance that helps with excess gas.
In this case, black seed oil can help with swelling and may be able to relieve some symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome such as cramps and spasms of the smooth muscle of the bowel wall. These same properties can also help you deal with nausea.
2. Weight loss
There is a possibility that black seed oil can help you lose weight. Black seed oil can help inhibit the absorption of sugar by the intestines and, therefore, can help reduce blood sugar. This effect can make you feel full and help you eat less.
3. Diabetes
As we mentioned earlier, black seed oil can help inhibit the absorption of sugar by the intestines, which, in turn, could help reduce blood sugar. Not only is this useful to help with weight loss goals, but it could also help control diabetes.
In addition to that, the journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism reported that black cumin oil can stimulate partial regeneration of pancreatic beta cells. This can cause an increase in serum insulin levels and an elevation in serum glucose.
This can lead to the possible prevention of type I diabetes and also increase insulin sensitivity in liver cells, which can help prevent type II diabetes.
4. Scars, Eczema, and other skin problems
Black seeds and black seed oil have been used for years for skin problems, supposedly since the time of Cleopatra. This is partly due to two separate things that black seed oil could do for you. First, black seed oil contains thymoquinone, an anti-inflammatory component that can attack some skin problems (such as eczema, acne scar tissue, etc.) by helping to promote healing. Second, black seed oil can help inhibit the production of melanin, which could prevent scarring.
5. Cancer
There is a good chance that you have read somewhere that black seed oil can help with cancer problems. Although it is not the miracle cure that some articles offer, there is some evidence that black seed oil can help with colon, prostate, pancreas and lung cancer.
According to a 2012 study from the National University of Singapore, the thymoquinone content of black seed oil may have the ability to help stop the growth of tumors from these particular cancers. Similar results were found in studies conducted in Saudi Arabia.
The Singapore study also found that there is a good chance that the use of black seed oil along with regular chemotherapy not only helps chemotherapy do its job but can also lessen the side effects of chemotherapy. You should discuss this with your doctor due to other problems that may arise (see our side effects section).
6. Allergies and asthma
Do you remember those anti-inflammatory properties that we mentioned with skincare? They can also reduce inflammation in the respiratory system caused by allergies and help relieve the inflammation that accompanies asthma.
There are several other possible health benefits, ranging from strengthening hair to fighting fungal infections, related to the goodness of black seed oil. But at present, there is not much scientific evidence to explain why it works for these things. That said, given all the other benefits that come with black seed oil, it might not hurt to give it a try.Article author
