There are undoubtedly many reasons to visit the splendid island of Sicily and discover the treasures of its cities, both on the coast and inland, from all points of view: cultural, natural, and gastronomic, of course.
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Almost triangular, it has three vertices that are Perolo (or Punta del Faro) in Messina, Cabo Boro (or Lilibea) in Marsala, and Cabo Passero in Portopalo.
The cities and towns SiciliansThey have countless artistic and architectural monuments, dating from between the times of ancient Greece to the present day. The island has seven places that have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for their historical, artistic, architectural, or natural importance. Among them is Mount Etna, a symbol of the entire region.

Enjoy one of the most attractive experiences in Sicily: a 9-day tour in Sicily and the Aeolian Islands, to discover the fascinating places in this magnificent region. Visit Palermo, Monreale, Agrigento, Ragusa, and discover their incredible attractions.
Something that we love in the cities? Nothing better than there is a sea next to it. And luckily Sicily is one of those cities.
Although you cannot bathe in the sea here due to the contamination of the water (if you want to swim, it is best to make a getaway to Mondello), it is always a good plan to go for a walk through La Cala, the port of the city.
Due to its great extension, to get to know the Italian island in-depth it is advisable to spend at least a week there. A week in which the use of a car, although not essential, will be advisable. The ideal is to go around it circularly, starting in Messina and moving clockwise. Knowing all this, we are ready to enter Sicily.
The ideal time to visit Palermo (and all of Sicily) is spring: the moderate temperatures from March to May make it a perfect destination in Europe.
Avoid the summer: temperatures rise a lot, as do tourists and prices. If you go at this time, however, try to make it in July, when the patron saint of the city, Santa Rosalía, is celebrated in a big way.
Also, if you feel very hot, we have the perfect solution: Mondello beach, which is only half an hour from the center of Palermo, is one of the most beautiful in Sicily and the perfect place to cool off!Article author
