Body brushing is one of the simplest and most under-rated beauty routines. It's one of those really obvious beauty tips that you probably already know about - but how often do you actually do it?
I recently did a 7 day experiment body brushing every morning and my skin has never felt softer. I'm now a convert, and can't think of a better way to start the day.
Forget expensive exfoliation creams or cellulite treatments, this simple daily routine stimulates the lymphatic system of the body, sloughs away dead skin cells and ingrown hairs, gets your circulation moving and just feels amazing! Two minutes a day will do a thorough job, but even just a quick brush will have benefits.
You can use a natural bristle brush, loofah sponge or exfoliator gloves. Some people prefer a long handled brush, but I like the gentle spine workout I get from twisting to brush my own back.
With dry skin, start from your feet and do long and firm strokes up towards your heart. Pay extra attention to any really wobbly bits, particularly if you have any cellulite.
Be gentle over sensitive or delicate parts, such as your chest and breasts. Brush your face very gently, or just use your normal facial exfoliator in the shower.
Even the guy in your life will love it - especially if you volunteer to brush him!
Add body brushing into your daily routine and see the difference it makes to your skin. Follow up with some cold-pressed coconut oil for a simple organic moisturiser and you'll be glowing in no time!
