"Bottled water is becoming more and more a necessity in the world because the water that comes from our faucets is becoming more and more difficult to control to the level that it is safe to drink. Water purifiers used in many homes may be of some help but it is not enough to remove all impurities and dissolved minerals which can harm the body,” according to Allan Pyle, president of Steelhead Industries, a company that designs and manufactures water purification equipment for the bottled water industry in many parts of the world.

“As the population grows and the water demand gets higher and higher, the plants that process the stream waters cannot grow as fast as the population does. Therefore, you run into a situation where the water quality starts to degrade and it gets worse to the point where it doesn't make sense to try and process all the water that goes into our homes to drinking standards. This is because about 95 to 98 percent of it is used to wash the driveway or flush toilets. Only a few percent is actually used for drinking.
