You probably do not identify with people who are heavily obese, cannot fit into any clothes, and need tailor-made clothes. However, most people actually look slim in clothes, but have a fat belly! This is actually a pretty common problem. It is also one of the most frustrating areas to lose fats in, since it is also usually the last place where fat leaves your body.
Often, when you try to lose your belly fat, you either end up not losing any weight at all or lose weight everywhere else except your stomach region! Let me share with you some basic principles to ensure that you are always kept on the right track when losing excess belly fat.
First of all, you should break down your big meals into 5 or 6 smaller and more frequent meals. When you take in high nutrients, low calories meals throughout your day, you will be keeping your metabolism rate high. When your metabolic rate is kept high, you will be burning more fats passively throughout your entire day. However, remember that although you will be taking more meals, and on a more frequent basis, your overall calorie intake still has to be less than what you are taking now if you want to lose weight.
Secondly, you should exercise for at least 3 to 4 days each and every single week if you want to see quick results. Granted, you will still be able to see fat loss without exercising at all, but you will become slimmer and weaker. If you were to work out regularly on top of everything else, you will become slimmer, stronger in an even shorter period of time!
Thirdly, you should drink lots of plain water to keep you hydrated. Stop taking in those cans of sodas. If you are used to drinking lots of soda a day, you have to stop this habit if you want to see effective fat loss results. I do not have the habit of drinking soda, and only take it approximately once a month or less, and this is one of the reasons I stay in shape all year long.
Lastly, I personally find that taking a high protein and low carbohydrate diet simply works for fat loss. The only reason there are people who take this diet and do not succeed is because they lose their focus halfway through or take in more calories overall. If you were to take in a high protein and low carbohydrate diet while being in a caloric deficit, you are bound to lose weight.
