We seem to be reaching a point in our society where people are more open about their personal business. You may have experienced this yourself on occasion. Someone is in public talking on their cell phone in a voice for all to hear about the intimate details of their life. It is kind of embarrassing but only so much since the person doing the talking could obviously not care less.

Is it getting that way for extramarital affairs? Not quite even though more than a few have gotten very brazen in their attitude and openness. Still for the overwhelming majority it continues to be a game of hide and seek. They naturally fear the consequences. These can range anywhere from a violent reaction from their significant other to evidence which can be used against them in court if the spouse decides to file for divorce.

So the sneaking continues and many spouses remain in the dark as to what their partner is up to. One of the classics is the old working late line.

It may be more effective now since many of us have to work longer hours just to make ends meet in these tough economic times. When your significant other says they are working late you may accept it without thinking twice.

However if you do have suspicions about what is going on in your spouse's world than there is a way to find out if they are being truthful about working longer hours.

Just check the pay stub. If they are being honest with you than it will be spelled out as clear as day on their check. If it is not there or they refuse to even show it to you then your suspicions may be right.

You can also check the financial statements. The best things in life may be free and the beginning of an affair may fall under that category. But eventually romance requires finance so see if there are some odd charges showing up on your statement.
