Cholesterol is a waxy substance found among fats in the body. Despite bad publicity, cholesterol is necessary. It's part of every cellular membrane in the body; we have over 100 trillion cells, and cholesterol is an integral part of that. It's a large percentage of our brain tissue.

I had a fantastic conversation with Dr. Ryan Bentley, author of Sex, Lies & cholesterol and there is always something new to learn and simple ways to modify your diet and be healthy.

Cholesterol is used to synthesize our steroid hormones such as testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. We also use cholesterol as a precursor to our stress hormones, such as cortisone, which raises the heart rate and make the muscles tense up. Cholesterol is also the precursor to vitami
D. It's part of the nerves and part of the coating around our nerves, so it's very integrated into the body.

Everybody tags cholesterol as something bad, especially LDL, which isn't really cholesterol. LDL is a low-density lipoprotein, which means it's a protein that's a carrier molecule. It's termed the bad cholesterol because it delivers cholesterol to various parts of the body, such as to the cells for cellular repair and to the organs for the synthesis of steroid hormones. It also helps make bile salts in the body.

LDL carries about 75% of the body's total cholesterol. About 50% of LDL is the LDL molecule itself; the other 50% is cholesterol. It has a higher cholesterol percentage tha
HDL (high-density lipoprotein), which removes excess cholesterol from the body and transports it to the liver for elimination. People consider HDL the good cholesterol because it removes excess cholesterol. The HDL molecule by itself is only about 25% cholesterol. That's cholesterol in a nutshell.

We can't function without hormones. We can't live without cells since they are what make us up. Nervous tissues run through the entire body, and it's very important to have cholesterol. It's also important to understand that not all LDL is bad, and not all HDL is good, but I'll share more about that later!

As a member of The National Writers Union for many years, I have been aware of the problems experienced by educated, professional writers. Many have been deprived of their contracted fees. Others have had their writing plagiarized or syndicated without their consent and without payment to the writer by unscrupulous publishers and authors. But the Writers’ Union has done something about that. Jointly, as a group, they have managed to fight for the rights of individual writers.

Reawakening love IS possible. It happens all the time. Just when you most feel like giving up, letting go and moving on, stop and reevaluate before leaving. Yes, there are some relationships that have truly run their course. Perhaps the reason for connecting no longer exists and both would be happier elsewhere. But very often, two people reach an impassem, an inevitable butting of heads and personality differences, and instead of working through the issues they just give up and leave.

What do YOU believe are the 3 causes of all relationship problems? * Inadequate Money? * Not enough or too much Sex? * Friends interfering? * Family triangles and intrusions? * Poor communication? * Emotional Imbalance? Relationships are more complex than many of us care to admit. We choose a person who attracts us because of the way they look, behave and feel. And, inevitably, as we get closer and know each other better, those very same previously wonderful qualities can become a thorn in our side.

Ever since I began seeing my private therapy and coaching clients, over two decades ago, I have been longing to work with a Virtual Assistant. In fact, I wanted this type of personal assistance to help me cope with my family, my relationships, my career path, and even my health many years before this type of service became available online. When I was single, I would often choose a partner who looked good physically or sounded wonderful at first but proved to be either emotionally or financially bereft – and I thought I had made another “bad” choice.r
