Clearing the Way for the New Year

The New Year is upon us and with it comes new energy, new beginnings, and new opportunities. But in order to fully step into the energies of the New Year, we must step out of the Old Year, so to speak. One of the characteristics of universal energy is that lower vibrating energy cannot be maintained in the same space as higher vibrating energy. So when we allow new, higher vibrating energies to come into our lives, we must be willing to release the old, lower vibrating energies.

Many of us make the mistake of thinking we can have it both ways. We say we want to move forward in our lives, into the new energies that allow for growth and greater possibilities, but our fear of the unknown makes us hesitant or unwilling to fully release the old, which is required in order to fully move into the new. It is as if we are crossing a fast-moving stream by stepping from rock to rock. The next rock seems to be farther away than the last one and is quite a stretch for us.

In a situation like that, we have a choice. We can stay on the rock that's unde
eath us, gazing at the rock that's just out of our reach, desiring to go there but not having the courage to leap; or we can take that big step and risk getting a little wet in the process. Some people stay on their safe, little rock for years, or even for their entire life. Others hear the call to move forward in accordance with their Soul's purpose, but don't know what steps to take.
