There is one thing that all of us want for our business and that is to see a level of success that will help keep us in business and to move us into the future. Although many of us tend to focus on finding new customers and new leads in order to build our business, we may be neglecting some of the best customer opportunities that we have at our fingertips. After all, there is a formula that states that 80% of all of your business can come from 20% of your customers. Although I'm not discounting the fact that you should continue to look for new clients, it is important for you to continue to sell to your existing clients as well. What are some options that you can take in order to succeed and benefit your business in the best way possible?
One option that you need to consider is the fact that your customers are going to be interested in the items that are similar to what they purchased in the first place. This type of niche marketing is very popular on the Internet but it can also be successful with off-line businesses as well. After all, somebody that purchased a gardening item from you in the past will be unlikely to purchase business supplies from you in the future. You need to continue to market to them according to their individual interests. That is why it is important for you to continue to develop new products and services that are going to assist those individuals in getting what they want and need.
One of the easiest ways for you to find out what your customers want is to simply ask them what they want. You can do this through the use of surveys and there is survey software that will help walk you through the process if you are unfamiliar with how it is prepared. You can either use an off-line or online survey tool that will allow you to contact your existing customers and to ask them questions that will allow you to get inside the mind of your customers. With just a few questions, you can often find different directions to take your business that will be instantly successful. Of course, it is going to be necessary for you to analyze the data that you have available with the software tools that you downloaded. Don’t be surprised with the results that were gathered. You might have to tweak a few items around in order to properly fulfill your customer’s needs.
Another option to consider is to find ways to contact your customers regularly. This can be done on the Internet very easily but it is necessary for you to begin now to build a list. You can either contact those individuals through email or through social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter. The benefit of doing so is that you can inform them about any specials that you may be running and invite them back to shop at your business, each time you have a new product or service to offer them.

For most owners of a privately held company, when the time is right they want to sell their business for the highest price possible in the quickest time possible and live happily ever after. There is nothing too complicated in that and at a basic level, that’s perfectly fine.
