You have undoubtedly heard the phrase about life imitating art, but is there any way to argue that it is entirely as possible that art simply reflects a person's inner space and personal harmony? It seems that the two are uniquely connected, just as the space that we choose to live can tell us a great deal about how we are functioning on the inside. Of course if you live with a family, partner or friends you will have multiple personalities being expressed within the living space.
A good way to know where your inner self is at is to spend a bit of time looking through an art museum or even using the virtual tours offered online from the major art museums around the world. Instead of looking for what art is famous or acclaimed, look for pieces of art that seem to speak to you. Once you see one you will know just what this means.
It may be a style of art you aren't familiar with or a painting, photograph or sculpture by an artist you have never heard of. Study the art and try to decide what elements are appealing to you. Is it the colors used? Is it the shapes or the mood that the piece creates or is it a happy or meaningful memory that is brought instantly back to mind.
With this information you can then incorporate elements or pieces of the art into your living space to create an exte
al and internal harmony. You certainly don't have to have a poster or a print of the actual art piece, but that may be a great idea. Find ways to express your inners self in your living space to create that balance in your life.
Usually this is not a complicated task.
It may be as easy as changing the color of a room or opening up the blinds to allow the light to come in. Often people find that art that includes natural elements such as plants, flowers and natural elements is very appealing. Buy a few houseplants, try adding a few decorative stones or terra cotta accent pieces or even consider setting up a little outdoor garden on the patio, balcony or in a few containers in your kitchen.
When your home is a reflection of what gives you pleasure to see you will find that home really becomes the center of the family. This is a great place in life to be and one that truly shows the balance and harmony between your inner and outer space.
