"Spring forward" is the catchphrase for the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, which takes place at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2009. How will you spend your extra daylight time? Here are some ideas and tips:
Begin clearing space in your yard or garden. Choose an area that needs attention and "decluttering" or weeding. Spend 30 minutes or so each day on clearing out this area and create space for that herb or flower garden you've been dreaming about. When you create the space, you will begin the forward motion in creating the garden or perhaps a space for an outdoor fountain.
What about that garage you've been ignoring? Now you have extra daylight time to organize it! Choose one section that has been nagging at you and get busy purging, donating to charities and church yard sales or selling unwanted items on Ebay. Consider adding storage containers that will withstand the hot or cold temperatures of your garage and be sure to label them! Arrange items/containers so that the most used items are the more accessible.
Spend more time outside in the beautiful Spring weather...but first, create an environment on your patio or porch that feels inviting to you. Bring some Citronella candles outside, add some favorite potted flowers or plants and some wind chimes. Then, weather permitting, plan to enjoy some dinners outside in your newly created space.
