Everybody needs to slow down a bit. We all need to realize that all our expereinces can only be had in the present. You can pretend all you want. This is a fundamental reality of life. A fact of life is that it doesn't matter whether we are having a good time or a bad time. The reality is that our entire life is a temporary expereince in terms of 'time'. Therefore, any expereince ... negative or positive ... in our lives is even more temporary, more times than not.Death is the only and ultimate exception. Our expereinces do not survive us. When we run out of life (die), they end.

Too many people live their lives with a concious or subconcious fear of death. Ironically, some have their own special preference about how and when they would like to die. Some say they want to live to see the day when ... (You fill in the blank). Others say they want to die in their sleep. Still others say they don't want to die before ... (You fill in the blank), and so on and so forth.

Death has spawned a multi-billion dollar industry and it has a life of its own. Morgues, funeral parlors, phychologists, insurance companies and others thrive financially. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with the business of Death. We all find some benefit, some conveneince, some consolation and some acceptance because of the service the Death industry provides. But, please do not fear death. It is futile and irrational to fear this inevitable phase of life. Yes. I said 'phase'. Furthermore, we should not even fear our enemies and Death is not an enemy. In fact, I believe that "Death" may very well be our last best friend.. So live with the confidence that your best friend will there for you in the end. In the meantime, it is inevitable that the life of the Death industry will never cease to exist so long as there is a birth rate.

Still, even though we all know that death is inevitable, to many of us drive through life with one foot on the gas and the other on the brakes. In case you do not realize it, people who are safety concious die too, and people who live recklessly outlive them a lot of the time. I realize that it can be a bit scary, and the unknown usually is. But try to life your foot off the brakes more often than not and for a moment longer. It could be exhilarating.

Here is a quote that may inspire you. It is one of my favorite. "Be open to life and don't let the fear of death close your 'living' door". Let more people and ideas in. Do something you have never done before, or at least do something you have not done in a long time. Think of it as spicing up your life and living it up a little. Hey, you may as well. Either way, at some point in time, you are going to run out of life as 'time' continues to carry those who survive you, into the future; only God knows for how long.. Put another way, "At any given 'now', we all are perfect and timely candidates as far as Death is conce
ed. We are all exactly the same and precise age; 'now' old.

I don't think I need to say anything more about Death, and you don't need to hear anything more about it either; except to say, the sooner you get control over the fear of running out of life (dying), the sooner you will realize a more fun, purposeful and fullfilling life.. Challenge Death, not by living recklessly but by living hopefully, purposefully and passionately. You don'y have to carry the fear of Death on your chest as you go through life. As you stand in your door and face the sun, think of Death as just a shadow behind you. Step outside with the lack of care or conce
Death deserves. You have life now, life it. Nevertheless, keep in mind that living life to the fullest has more to do with having a 'present' appreciation of your own 'being' than with doing anything. After all, you first have to 'be' before you can 'do'.
