Dental Surgery India – Can we smile different?
Written by Atul Sharma
Any procedure by which involves artificially modifying dentition comes under dental surgery. In other words, it is the surgery of the teeth and jaw bones. Smile is the first noticeable feature that every human possesses and therefore we should take extra care to ensure that our smile is most pleasing to others. Not only that, clean teeth always ensures a painless and infection-less state. Medical Treatments India is progressing in the field of dentistry and people are taking dental health quite seriously. Cosmetic surgeries for the mouth are becoming popular and dental implants and other forms of treatment are no longer considered as a luxury, but a necessity. Resizing, restructuring and even reshaping teeth have become quite common these days.
Plaque is a yellow sticky film that forms on the teeth and gums. The bacteria in plaque convert carbohydrates to acid that demineralises tooth. Thus, cavities are formed. Plaque can also cause irritation to the gums, making them red, tender, or bleeding easily. The gums may even pull away from the teeth, letting bacteria infest in the cavities and create pus. Leaving this untreated can even destroy the bones near these teeth. Even if we brush and floss carefully, plaque and tartar gets developed in the areas that are hard to reach and clean. In order to avoid this, regular cleaning is to be done by a dental professional. This involves tooth scaling and polishing, as well as removal of dead, damaged and infected tissues if too much tartar has accumulated. The dentist generally uses various instruments and devices to loosen and remove tartar from the teeth. Sometimes the surgeries involved become so painful that the dentist may inject an anesthetic so that the alveolar nerves do not transmit. The anesthetic injected in a syringe, the needle being placed beneath the oral mucosa surrounding the teeth. Dental Surgery India has evolved to the extent that all treatments and operations have become painless and smooth.
Dental Surgery India can be of different types such as Endodontic, Prosthodontics, Orthodontic and Periodontics. In endodontic, Root canal surgeries are done on the root or the pulp to drain out the infection or remove the pulp. Another surgery done is apicoectomy, where the apex is removed. In prosthodontics, prosthetics replace the teeth. Crowns, caps, veneers, bridges, implants, dentures, etc. are the various types. In orthodontic treatment, implants, apiectomy and extraction, fiberotomy are done. The surgeries that involve the periodontium come under periodontics.
