Destination Success … A Simple Road Map! Part 1

Are you looking for a road map to success? A simple business plan for your home based business is a necessity.

The great educator, Booker T. Washington, said “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life, but as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” To be successful in any endeavor we need a simple business plan or a road map to get us from point A to point B.

If anyone wants to get the most from a work at home career it would be wise to develop a business plan for their success. When done correctly, not only will your business plan show you where to go, but the process of putting together your business plan is sure to open your eyes to problems and solutions not previously considered. The journey will have more of a direct route without as many roadblocks or detours discovered along the way. In turn making it a much more enjoyable trip to your final destination, success.

Before you develop your road map or business plan, you may have to figure a few things out - not only about your work at home business, but about yourself. Some of the areas you may want to focus on are:

Who Are You? What is your purpose in developing this home-based business? What are your core values? Will they play a part in your success? What are you looking to achieve: Extra Income, Time Freedom, and Social Freedom? Purpose and value are two building blocks in the foundation of any work from home opportunity.

Some things to consider:

A) Take a long hard look at where you currently are. Are you happy? Are you just getting by? Where do I want to get to? What do I desire to change about my present situation and how much time do I need to do it? How much extra income do I need? You get the idea…

B) Scrutinize your personal and business values. Which ones do you consider important? Decide which you desire to bring to the forefront and actualize in your home based business opportunity. Do I want do get rich quick or just earn extra money?

C) Combine your past business experience with the present and decide what your goals are for the future. Do I want an online internet business opportunity? Do I want to talk to prospects or have a fully automated home based business?

At any rate, THINK BIG, and go for the gusto! Make sure to write everything down as it will help you down the road. In part 2 we will look at putting your goals in writing and making the numbers work.
