We have now crossed into yet another year, I find nmyself taking a look at the past year. What are the nthings I am grateful about? What shifted or changed nin this year? What areas have I grown in? I really nenjoy pondering those questions and contemplating nmy previous year's journey.

But a strange thing ( or not so strange thing) nstarts to happen. I find that those nnagging "negative" thoughts start to pop up around nwhat I did not do, what more could I have done, nwhat I could have done better etc. I suspect that nyou understand this as well.

Now what? What is next? I wish to definately nstay with the sucesses I had in the year AND I nwant to incorporate some of my disappointments into na plan of action and/or commitment.

A great place to start is to get clarity around nwhat you really want in your life by spending some ntime identifying what you know you do not want in nyour life in the upcoming year. These actually tend nto come fairly easily for most people.

Take a piece of paper and draw a line down nthe middle. On the top of the left side put the ntitle "What I do not want" and go ahead and make a nlist of at least 25 specific things you do not want ( nie: do not want to struggle with weight, do not want nto hate paying the bills, do not want to chase clients nfor money). Take whatever time you need to do nthat, there is no rush.

Once you have completed that, title the column on the second side "So, what do you want"? Take each statement you made on nthe left and now turn it into something you really nwant (ie: I want to manage my weight easily, I want nto pay my bills effortlessly, I want my clients to pay non time, all the time).

Putting down what you know you don't want nreally helps us to get clarity around what we do nwant. It is when we know what we want that we ncan make a plan of action to move towards that ngoal.

So how clear are you about what you WANT in nthe next 12 months? Working with a life coach can ngo a long way in supporting you on your journey in nmaking this year everything you want it to be. If you nhave any questions or would like to experience a free
