Don't Judge Me: I'm Pretty Cool

I love this quote by the Dalai Lama:
“People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost.”
Most of humanity is seeking some sort of fulfillment or happiness that lasts. We are a people that like to be gratified and satisfied quickly if possible. We do all sorts of things to fill that nagging empty void that haunts us day and night and if you are blessed, there comes a day when you shed your layers of vanity and find a reservoir deep within that has the ability to fulfill you. There you learn to bask yourself as much as possible to experience peace and joy.
I find it disheartening that some people or religious groups judge others who are not on their road to discover happiness. This has caused a great deal of people frustration and disappointment.
No one knows what another person’s journey to happiness ought to look like, as everyone’s beliefs and circumstances are different. One man may find his way to fulfillment and happiness by meditating for 15 minutes every morning, gaining a sense of spirituality and connection with God. Another person may find fulfillment and happiness volunteering at a homeless shelter, giving of himself for the sake of the needy. Yet another person may put paint on their face, dress up in colorful linens, and dance around a fire chanting prayers to God weekly to grow spiritually.
The point is that we are a diverse population and what causes one to be fulfilled and happy may not work for everyone. In speaking spiritually, how one person connects with God and grows spiritually may not work for a different person.
My pursuit of a spiritual connection with the Divine may not be like yours or measure up to your standards and I’m quite all right with that. The outward appearance of man can be quite deceptive, appearing religious or spiritual, but lacking any spiritual depth deep down. I search for transcendent meaning not based on empty religious ceremonies and rituals, but upon a real connection with my Creator, who does not dwell “high above the clouds”, but dwells in the very core of my being.
My search for authentic spirituality and my pursuit to grow deeper spiritually is uniquely mine. Yours is yours. I hope that more acceptance and welcoming will surface among humanity. May we all find true joy and peace as we become more conscious of the spiritual mysteries of the universe.

That Child's Voice Was Yours In The Past
I was watching my six and nine year old daughters playing the other morning when suddenly there was a barrage of I Hate You and I Don't Like You Anymore statements flying about the room.
