DON'T Only Give Thanks for What you DO Have

We all have so much to be grateful for, let us not forget to give thanks for these abundant blessings... you are able to read this for starters!
Since Holly's Habitude goes cross country to nearly 3,000, most of you I have not met. However, as a Professional Organizer I do know you, and you already have enough "stuff". More is not better, in fact, "more" can create a huge mess, much stress, and a very ungrateful heart.
When I hear that in America we now have 16 million people diagnosed with "intermittent explosive disorder" it makes me sick. I call it lack of self control, for we all could be explosive every so often if we MADE THE DECISION to do so.
Self control, like any other muscle gets bigger and better the more we use it, and we get better at it the more we practice it. Let us remember that when we go Christmas shopping this year. Little Johnny may be cute at 4 getting all on his wish list, but not so cute at 40 when he doesn't get what he wants. Who wants him for a husband, neighbor, co-worker... I don't even want to drive on the same road as Johnny!
Paul says it best in Ephesians 4:19, in fact, sounds like he is speaking to Americans. "Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a CONTINUAL LUST FOR MORE". The more we have, the more we want, the more we get and we are happy... for a short period of time. Then we start over wanting more. You know what I'm talking about, this is the "continual lust for more".
Be grateful for what you DON'T HAVE, it creates better character.
Self control is the best gift you can give yourself, and the best gift to teach your children. Self control is better than a new........ anything!

[Colossians 1:13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. A desire to be a good citizen of the Kingdom of FatherGod should be one of the main Spiritual focuses of our Christian life. HIS Kingdom is the framework that we should keep in mind as we consciously strive to apply spiritual laws or principles from HIS Word in our daily, moment by moment life. These spiritual laws or principles include: (1) Law of Faith, (2) Law of Confession is Possession, (3) Law of Sowing and Reaping, (4) Law of Living in Love, etc.
