“Everyone who takes a shower can take 5 minutes to stretch with warm water running over their back thus feel rejuvenated, peaceful, and gaining more flexibility.”

Many times people have lots of tension going on in their body and lots of aches and pains. But by doing just 5 minutes of simple shower yoga while warm water is running over a person back they can stay limber and feel rejuvenated. This is especially great for anyone who has lower back problems. Here are a few simple yoga poses that anyone can do in the shower.

Lots of people take long showers anyway so why not take that time to gain some flexibility and thus feel better. The more flexibility we have the less in the way of aches and pains we have… thus we feel better in general. And it’s been proven that when we gain flexibility in our body we also gain flexibility in our mind… and in this day and age we all need a little more flexibility.

Sunrise Salutation - Stand upright and place your arms over your head with the palms of your hands together with one leg bend forward and the other leg stretched back, and bend back slightly at the waist. And breathe deep while warm water is running over your lower back. Hold this pose for 30 seconds to 1 minute and breathe deep, relax, and then slowly stand up straight.

Forward Bend - This is a very simple pose, just bend forward at the waist and extend ones arms towards the floor. And allow the warm water to flow over your back making it much easier to bend. Hold this pose for 30 seconds to 1 minute while breathing deep, relaxing, and then slowly stand up straight.

Side Bend or Triangle Pose - Bend to one side and hold onto your ankle (or as far down as you can on your leg) and raise the other arm up towards the ceiling. Hold this pose for a 30 seconds to 1 minute while warm water flows over your back, and breathe deep, relax, and then slowly stand up straight.

Side Bend or Triangle Pose - Other Side - Then repeat this pose to the other side.
Simple Squat - Squat down in the shower and place your arms around your legs and allow the warm water to roll over your back and breathe deep while holding this pose for 30 seconds to 1 minute and relax and stand up slowly.

Remember do these poses slowly and only to the extent that a person is able to do each pose, don’t push it, gaining flexibility takes time.

Many Blessings to Everyone!
