If you want to take the fear out of article writing, don’t make it about you. Make your article writing about your prospect. Focus on content that your readers would benefit from. Write about how your products will help them. Or how your business service can solve their problems or pain. By focusing on your readers and how your content will benefit them, you’re taking the focus off of you. Sure, you’ll still have the fear of what-if-no-one likes my writing, but I can assure you all writers have this nagging fear. The more you write, the more confidence you’ll build, which will lessen the fear of writing. Article writing and marketing is a powerful method to generate leads to your blog or site. Don’t allow your fear to stop you from using this method to grow your direct sales business. The biggest challenge for people when it comes to writing is wondering if it’s good enough to publish. It was my fear when I first started blogging. And I went back and forth whether to hit that publish button or not. The best way to start writing is to start. If you want to be a great writer- write more and often. First, getting started with article writing requires some simple steps. Start small by organizing your thoughts around a topic you want to write about. #1 Write what you know This will be easy if you stick to what you already know: your products or the business you’re already in. For direct sales consultants, start with your company products. If you’re selling nutritional products- put yourself in your customer’s place. What questions would your customers want to know if they’re searching for your products online? What questions did you have about your products before you started using them? #2 Think like your customer Always think like your customer as this will guide your writing to focus on your ideal customer. Think of article writing as answering your customer’s questions for her/him. #3 Less on features and more on benefits Focus on benefits, benefits, and more benefits. In your article, highlight key benefits of your products and what your customer will get from using the products. Avoid fancy ingredient terms or over-loading your article with facts because it can quickly lose your reader’s attention. Articles that are educating yet entertaining will keep your reader’s attention focused on your article. The goal of article writing is to have a call-to-action that you want your readers to do after reading your article. For example: do you want your readers to visit your site and sign up for your email newsletter? Request a free sample of your product? Always prompt your readers with a call-to-action. If you use these simple tips to get started with writing, your business will benefit from the incoming traffic. The more traffic, the more opportunities to generate new leads, which your direct sales business needs to continue growing. Article writing and marketing is one of the best and free methods of generating tons of targeted leads to your site.
